Lovely pub, nice staff and having Madri on tap is great. Brilliant garden with loads of outdoor heaters. I'm yet to try the food but will do soon.

Beautiful food, lovely setting and fantastic service. . We visited on New year's Day, slightly hungover. But, had a wonderful time. We look forward to visiting again and enjoyed their famous Sunday Roast 😁👍

Had a fantastic lunchtime meal with my wife. Service was welcoming and quick. Nice atmosphere, staff alert and responsive, will go again with rest of the family.

What a find! Had a lovely evening meal with friends. Can't believe we've lived in East Sussex for so long and not found this amazing place!Excellent service with very friendly and helpful staff. The food was superb and great portion size too!Would thoroughly recommend and we'll definitely be visiting again.

Decent friendly pub serving a wide range of alcohol with a dining area and back terrace.Interesting electric decor with a varied customer base. Friendly, staff with fast service.Rather busy. My only concern is the lack of masks and people not understanding breakthrough covid infections as the vaccine doesn't stop the spread of covid which will hit the customer base hard if infected.

The location and pub itself is a lovely building, however the food was average and service poor. We were late being seated at our table as it wasn’t ready for us when we arrived. Our starter order was then incorrect (understandably this happens) however when we advised staff of this there was no apology and we were told ‘I can do you another one but it will be 20 minutes’. There are other things that could be mentioned but quite honestly not worth the time spent. Their response to other reviews just shows their bad attitude and what you can expect when dining there.

It was so busy and I thought our lunch might suffer. WRONG. it was so good, really hot and arrived quickly. How these guys do it I don't know but they deserve high praise. Huge servings and the staff are lovely.

We stayed at The Pilot Inn for one night (wish we could have stayed longer!) and had an absolutely brilliant stay, the room was really clean, very warm and cosy which was perfect for January! The pub & restaurant have a great atmosphere, clean and welcoming and the staff were really great! The food was a real highlight! We had the camembert, steak pie & chicken pie and the full breakfast and LOVED all of it.Will definitely be returning!

Restaurant review...UPDATE: Sadly their untarnished record of perfect every time was blemished last week when we went for our anniversary. Both main courses were overcooked and the £30 bottle of Chablis tasted like a £5 bottle cheap plonk. The service was lacking the usual welcome and charm. There was no 'checkback' while we ate and we we're not asked how it was when we paid. If it had been any worse I would have gone and found someone to complain to. Although it was busy when we arrived, we were the only people in the restaurant by the time we had eaten, so being very busy wasn't the reason.Sad to say we may not be back.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Perfect food every time we've eaten here. We live nearby (5min drive along the seafront) and so usually book a table when anyone visits us for the great food and friendly service. We've always been lucky enough to park in their car park (if we drive), although there are limited spaces and a bit tight fit larger cars, there's free parking in the surrounding roads and seafront (max stay 4hrs at time of review).Great variety on the menu. Freshly cooked and served together.

We ordered roast pork and the handmade pie, with New York cheesecake for dessert. All were delicious. The staff were brilliant - warm and attentive but not intrusive. Even when it got to 7.30pm and the whole pub had emptied out without us realising (they close early on a Sunday) they didn't rush us to leave. Lovely meal.
