Very, very slow service for our visit. Took quite a while to get anyone to acknowledge us when we arrived on time for our booked table. Diners not allowed to serve themselves at salad bar, so not if a wait there. Mains were slow and took an age to get the bill. Took over an hour and a half from arrival to exit, just ordering mains. The Chicken and Cod were both excellent.

Unfortunately our visit today was not great. The menu is very misleading for vegan options. I had just 2 main meals to choose from and 2 dessert options. The menu stated there were vegan options in 4 areas of the menu. Although our server was a lovely girl we did not see her until a while after we had finished our meal. She came over to ask us if we would like dessert. We wanted to wait until our mum got back. She did not come back for quite a while. We declined dessert and asked for the bill. Our table was not cleared the whole time we were in your restaurant. Everything was still on the table when we left! I’m sorry to say I don’t think we will be coming back anytime soon.

We have visited a few times. Whenever we come to Eastbourne and are never disappointed. We booked again yesterday on line in the morning. We realised we were going to be late for the booking so rang ahead and spoke to a really helpful lady who rearranged the booking for an hour later and updated the details on the online booking. On arrival we were shown to a table with a view of the harbour. Our order was taken by a trainee who was doing a really good job for day 3. All of the staff were very attentive and friendly. In particular Liam who was lovely and very efficient. The food was delicious and the salad bar fresh, well stocked and well manned (its a shame the staff still have to serve the salad) we will definitely be back.

Visited here today for my cousins birthday, with all the family. Nice friendly staff, but could of cleared our tables a bit at times. Food was good. Lots of variety on the menu. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Toilets were freezing, so take your jacket!

First time back at the Harvester since lock down, very nice booth for 2, not too busy. Lovely food and waffle dessert. Really enjoyed the visit.

Probably the best Harvester I've ever been too. Today was our 2nd visit. Quiet, clean, tidy restaurant. Service was prompt and efficient. The waiter was brilliant. Food was delicious. Very satisfied family. Would definitely recommend.

We arrived at 7.58pm ish for our 8pm booking, when we arrived the host walked off to find us a table! Thought this odd as we had booked on sunday for our table today at 8pm.We were seated at a small unsteady table by the radiator, which was ok . I did ask if we could be moved to a booth as it wasnt very busy, we were offered the table next to us but it hadn't been cleared. (There was a free booth behind this table, which no one sat at the whole time we were there!!)We ordered our food and drinks, 2 refills one with ice one without, both came with ice.We went to the salad bar, it didnt look very appealing so choose to just have a bread roll. Our starters arrived very nice, calamariand cracker jack prawns cooked well and tasted lovely. The next time we saw staff was when our main meal came out, this was served and we were asked if we wanted any sauces and these were brought over a few minutes later. We didnt have any staff come over through our whole meal, until we had finished... and when they did come over they asked if we would like deserts and brought us the menu then took our main plates, our starter and salad bowl were still on the table the whole time we were sat there.Considering it was valentines day, there was one tiny table with some petals, absolutely no effort was put in to decoration at all, all other restaurants leading to you were all decorated and made a huge effort. My husband and i usually come over from hastings to you when we go for a meal as we love your restaurant, but i have to say this time it was absolutely shocking!!! The service was awful in every way possible, the staff didnt look happy, tables were dirty and bot cleared and no effort was made to clear plates from customers tables from their previous meal.Sad to say im really not sure we will come back and that i wasted our Christmas gift a dining out card on this experience.

Went today with my wife for lunch. A shame the chicken skewers had run out but my wife found the halloumi skewers a great alternative. I had the balanced bowl with rump steak. That was equally good, nice variety of salad on it and the steak was tasty and value for money. The soup we both had for starters - tomato and basil- was good. One observation, a few fresh basil leaves on top would have really lifted it. Overall though excellent service and good quality and value. WARNING- go hungry! You won't leave hungry, and this is definitely on our lunch list for the future.

Lovely food, fresh salad, friendly, helpful staff, Beth and the young gentleman behind the bar who took our order (unfortunately I didn't get his name to mention him). The young lady who served my salad did so with great care. I had Thai Green curry (I was pre-warned it was (spicy) hot when I ordered) and my friend had scampi, it was all very tasty. I made a point, just before we left, to say to the Manager that we had thoroughly enjoyed our meal. It's even more important I feel, after what we've all endured over the last 18 months! 😊08th September 2021 - Update. Visited here tonight, last minute decision. They were short staffed but despite this unfortunate situation, the gentleman managed to accommodate us. We had excellent service from the greeting and a very short wait to be served by the lovely waitress Sophie B (Soph). Sophie B was so smiley, friendly and efficient and clearly likes her job 😊. The lady who 'built' my salad was equally lovely. The food arrived, piping hot and was delicious. I would recommend the vegetarian stack. My friend enjoyed the scampi. Once again, we had great food at a reasonable price, excellent team of staff, who coped admirablydespite being understaffed. Thank you to all. My apologies that I couldn't write a brand new review and had to edit my last one.

Food is basic, but of reasonably good quality!!!Calamari strips were cooked well and succulent, same for the cod.Ribs were slightly overdone and not like normal slow cooked where it falls of the bone. Sticky sauce on the ribs is tasty.Views of the Harbor are great and love to was the bass swim.
