Verandah Restaurant at BEST WESTERN York House Hotel in Eastbourne

Our stay at this hotel was a lovely experience, staff friendly and helpful, the room was very clean and the decor and amenities good. Parking can be a pain. Council's don't make it easy for businesses unfortunately.

We had a great time obviously. The hotel is situated in a really convenient area opposite the beach. Staffs at reception were amazing and also catering staffs were wonderful. Breakfast was basic but delicious. I put 4* for the room just because the windows were not cleaned from inside and could see spider webs around the windows. Anyway we had a wonderful time in Eastbourne.

I want to give this place five stars because of the great customer service but if I do that I am being dishonest. As great as the staff are, the hotel needs a bit of work for the price we paid. Mattresses were quite bad and pillows far too flat. They had extra pillows in the cupboard so that wasn’t too bad but the mattresses really need to be replaced. I didn’t get a great night’s sleep due to the poor quality of the Mattress. The hotel is located at a nice spot, the sea view is lovely, rooms are very spacious compared to most hotel rooms and rather clean. Water pressure and temperature in shower and bathroom is superb and they accommodate you as much as they can.

This is a lovely hotel to stay in! Nice greeting, indoor swimming pool which was great to take my kids into just really enjoyed this place with my family. Will defo be returning here, the rooms are massive and have en suite bathrooms, the rooms were also very clean.

I stayed in a sea view room, just me and my dog. Room was lovely but bathroom was a bit tired. I had a lovely sandwich which I asked to be toasted for me which they did. It was nice and I sat outside with a view of the sea. Lovely sunny day for February! Waitress was lovely and friendly and served me again in the bar in the evening. I was still quite full so had the cheese board! Went down well with 3 glasses of wine! Pub prices too which was great. I will return again to this lovely hotel!

Room was lovely but pillows are uncomfortable and so was the bed. Dust on lamp shades and pictures. No staff came in to the room in the morning to replace the tea coffee and milk had to ask for more. The breakfast was nice but I wish the cooked breakfast was hot

We didn't stay but we did book an afternoon tea for a Saturday. It was my in-laws 80th birthday celebrations after we had to cancel a surprise birthday party. I called around some hotels but the York Hotel could fit us in and were very helpful when booking. There were 9 of us and the price we paid was very good. My youngest son (22 months old) was able to crawl and walk around and no one batted an eyelid. Admittedly it was quiet but it was a great afternoon and my in-laws loved it.

From outside hotel looks a bit drab but stayed in a sea view room and decor was very nice. Very comfortable room with everything you need for a break away. Food was good. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Would stay here again.

Lovely clean hotel. Bedrooms good. Bar drinks expensive. Food served on cold plates. Definitely a chef issue. All staff friendly and helpful. You can choose to have daily room service. Ideal for the sea front and pier.

I've spent a night with my family at York House Hotel for a mid-week stay. We got a seafront view room, which was very spacious and recently refurbished. Everything was clean, including the bathroom (also recently refurbished).The facilities are very good (including the pool) and the front desk staff were all polite and helpful.Downside wise, I found the pet surcharge being a bit steep for what was provided. Secondly, the optional breakfast fee may be a bit too high - we went to a highly rated local restaurant and paid less. Thirdly, our room #354 was just in front of the elevator's access. Walls and doors appear to be very thin. In fact, during the night we could hear all the other guests passing by. Luckily it was a quiet night.Most importantly, I would rate my stay a lot higher, but unfortunately I found the springy mattress provided being a substantial downside. I am not sure it is only a personal preference, I believe it was more a matter of cost cutting. It was so bad that I preferred to (not) sleep on the small sofa in the room.
