My friend and I visited on Friday night without booking. It was really busy but the very friendly guy at the bar managed to find us a table. We were served by Brogen and another lady who were so lovely, attentive and friendly. Quite honestly it was the best service I've received at a chain pub for years. We weren't rushed and were able to have a natter without feeling like we were in the way. Thank you Brogen and here's hoping the Cricketers find many more staff like you. Thank you

Lovely big pub with beautiful open fires. The shiraz that the bar staff recommended was absolutely gorgeous! We had a few starters between 4 of us and it really hit the spot. The staff were lovely too! Really nice place and we will be coming back!

Nice place and well presented but the service was very impersonal, i had a table booked but when we arrived i had to go to the bar to make myself known as opposed to being approached by any of the servers around. When shown to the table and seated we were told somebody would be with us soon to take our order but nobody did. My son ordered by the app as it was clear we weren't going to be served, it arrived soon enough and the food was fine, as we were finishing our meal some other people were shown to the table next to us and were there for a little while when a waitress came over to take their order and a little while into their meal they were approached again and asked if everything was OK. We had no interaction with any staff from start to finish, our 1st visit and probably the last was very disappointing. What a shame, what with hospitality suffering so much.

Nice chain-pub. Decent food for the price. Very fast service from friendly staff. Good range of food.

Nicely decorated, have been in the past. Very reasonably priced. Recent experience was poor. Seemed as if there were not many staff and they were busy which is understandable - but very little human courtesy. Very unwelcoming, we just felt we were a bother which shouldn’t be the hospitality experience. Just basic manners like a pleasant demeanour, offering a high chair for toddler, etc. Food ok for price but very little child choice. Most chain restaurants will offer more for young child like salmon, just smaller adult portions basically as it’s not the 1940s, kids like to eat well. Toddler had dried out piece of chicken and reheated solid mash and rightly wouldn’t eat it - I would happily pay more for more choices. Was mainly rudeness as reason for low rating unfortunately.

Came here for a family meal on a busy Saturday evening. Really polite staff (just the right level of attention), quick service, food piping hot, perfectly cooked. Couldn’t fault it - would recommend and would eat here again. Reasonably priced food.

Good parking. A very busy location and booking was a wise decision. A classic pub very nicely designed and decorated. A comprehensive menu and good portions. The service was good considering the business of the pub. Drinks were quickly dispensed and the food order was no long after. Needed to summons a member of staff to order dessert and not all items were available but what we had, chocolate fondant and ice cream was delicious.

We were very disappointed that after deciding what to have to eat we were told that there was no steak, chicken or gammon left so then had to choose something else. It would have been better to have been told this at the time we were given the menus. The food and drinks took a very long time to be served. The food when it came was very nice
