What a lovely pub. We stopped here after prom dress shopping. From the moment we walked in we knew we made a good choice. The bar man was so friendly. He informed us right away it will get busy later as there was an event next door so people booked to eat in the restaurant before going to the comedy club. He asked another member of staff to find us a table to eat while we ordered our drinks. We were put in the bar area not that we minded one bit. The food we ordered was so delicious that we even treated ourselves to a dessert. The staff there are just lovely & for that we would go back.

I love the style inside. The Mocha I ordered wasn't to my taste so, the bar staff person happily made another hot drink for me without charging. Very pleasant atmosphere.

We came in for some drinks for a special birthday and to watch the rugby before we went for a meal down the road. When we sat down we were told that this area was only to watch rugby. We were watching the rugby but not the point
.. apparently they had LOADS of rugby fans coming in to watch (this was 15 minutes into the game) and if they turned up then we’d have to move. Bearing in mind there were no reserved signs so we surely could sit where we wanted?!Around 5:45 the TV got turned off because there were “customers” coming in for dinner and he said “it was no longer a space to watch rugby”??? The people were turning up at 6pm for dinner
. We were basically told to leave. So rude coming from the management/owners. Our family were in shock with how we were treated. I will not be returning. Disappointed!

Lovely cosy pub in a cute little village square.. Great selection of beers on offer.Didn't eat there. Only thing you have to worry about is the parking. Even tho you park next to the pub, you must give the bar person your registration number. There is a camera clocking reg plates when you enter, and you get 3 hours free, so don't be late collecting your car !!

Visited this pub recently and feel in love with it almost instantly. It has such a friendly, feel good atmosphere and was very beautifully decorated. Especially the little private seating areas. It was really reasonably priced and had a great selection on tap and the bar tender had such a lovely demeanour. We shall definitely be visiting here again, next time to try their food because we saw several plates being bought out and everything looked delicious. They certainly have high standards all round. Best pub in Botley.

There were a few things about The Dolphin that were kind of so-so to good, but nothing to write home about, but the outstanding service more than made up for it. The wheelchair access was very bumpy even in an off road electric wheelchair, the food was something I would eat again though not something I would choose specifically, but I would go there again and again simply because the service was exceptional. Claire made sure we were seated somewhere that worked for me as a wheelchair user, she was friendly and warm, making us feel very welcome. She knew the menu and drinks very well, and made good suggestions, and accommodated my odd needs gladly. Best of all though she went absolutely above and beyond to find a dessert that my mum (who is allergic to nuts and also lactose intolerant) could actually eat at her birthday meal. She really made the evening a lovely experience.

We were met by a lovely young lady, we had 2 different pizza's, chips, garlic bread and our lad had fish, chips and mushy peas, we really enjoyed all of it, none of us had a single complaint we had a couple drinks each and the final bill was very reasonable indeed, we even left a small tip (would of been more but didnt have it â˜č) they even boxed up last couple slices of pizza for us with a note saying thank you from the dolphin, which was a lovely touch, we definitely recommend this lovely eclectic pub!
