Good Earth in Elmbridge

The experience at this establishment was an good enough for 4-stars. Food didn’t scream perfection,and the service was just alright to good enough. Nothing that exiting and new so hope for more improvement and bigger space for seating .

We have enjoyed this restaurant consistently for two decades together: both the original gents are still working & I rang ahead with specifics for a birthday surprise. Firstly, our pre-order wasn’t fulfilled, the smoked chicken starter was dreadfully sugary, the duck course average and the birthday surprise never arrived. At £40 pp excluding drinks, we were all disappointed, so that will be our last visit!

Ate here tonight after cinema. Very nice surroundings and staff lovely. Out of the three starters the trio of vegetable tempura was great and importantly hot. Unfortunately after that it went downhill. Spare ribs Luke warm and tasted reheated, the crispy lamb wrapped in lettuce leaves mediocre as lamb very dry and not crispy also Luke warm. Main course of aromatic crispy duck (one of my favourites) was extremely dry, incredibly disappointing as never experienced one as dry as this, and once again Luke warm, we did inform the waiter of this. really not good for the prices they charge. In fact everything was Luke warm even the Singapore noodles. It really tasted like the meat had all been reheated. Very disappointing as have heard great reviews and have looked forward to eating here on the strength of these reviews. Unfortunately we will not not eat here again. Extremely over priced for the quality of food served.

Always had good meals at The Good Earth. On this occasion very disappointed. Booked for a special birthday Lobster was very chewy and rubbery, drinks didn’t arrive and nothing special arranged for the birthday! Very disappointed.

I sent my friends to this place with my warmest recommendations. I visit this restaurant often. I get very good feedback from my friends. The dishes they serve are yummy and the crew is efficient and cooperative. always when we eat in this place we have a pleasant evening. warmly recommended.

Attentive staff, always on hand with excellent service. The food however doesn't meet the reputation of this place. It's OK, but not worth the price.

As a Chinese who grown up in China and have been living in the UK for many years, I wouldn’t say this place has very authentic Chinese food, but it doesn’t stop it being an excellent restaurant. The food was really nice and the staffs are very friendly. They have reinvented the Chinese dishes to fit the British taste, but it’s still nice and kept the inspiration of Chinese food.

Went after not having visisted for a few years. The food is really good, not the cheapest for sure but had a good lunch.Had Crispy Duck, Sweet + Sour Prawn and Shanghai Chilli ChickenRecommend you visit.

Excellent Chinese restaurant from the reputed good earth chain all over London. Food quality was outstanding and every dish cooked to perfection and served in decent portion sizes by well trained staff who were very good.Of excellent note was the simple steamed sea bass that was succulent and juicy.Highly recommended.

This is one of our favourite date night spot for me and my husband and it's a real treat the food here is 10 out 10 quality and service is just wow I always a have a great experience. Management and staff are wonderful. If you have never been there before I would recommend trying the set menu for 2 people as you get to try different dishes and it's expensive however it's worth the price I can't wait to go again. Make sure you reserve a table.
