Hand & Spear in Elmbridge

Friendly staff and lovely food. We went recently for a meal on a weekday evening as well as Sunday lunch. Both excellent, fresh food and even some treats for the puppy!

Very good food and very busy - making for a good atmosphere. Be sure to book as even on a Wednesday night you are not going to get s table as a walk in. Service was first rate despite the volume of customers.

Fantastically unusual!! Lovely staff, food and room! Couldn't have asked for anything more. Lovely extra touches in the room. Sky TV & Coffee machine, even the option for breakfast in bed! Will definitely be staying again.

Four of us went for lunch and it’s the kind of place you don’t mind going once but probably wouldn’t recommend to your friends. Pleasant pub with nice atmosphere and lovely decor but disappointingly forgettable food. Friendly but very average service (had to go looking for a waitress more than once), overpriced wine (£38 for a standard NZ Sauvignon Blanc) and a hard to justify 12.5% service charge added to the bill. Not sure if this place is trying to be a hotel, a pub or a restaurant, but as a restaurant it’s a one off for me.

Reliable dinners, and lovely staff, as usual but both specials not available. How is that possible at 7pm? Tiny cheesecake too.

My partner and I dropped by for a late lunch this afternoon and all I can say is WOW! The staff were great. Attentive, friendly and extremely accomodating! I ordered a burger and my partner had the duck and they were both well presented, the portions were generous and the duck was fall off the bone tender and succulent- compliments to the chef on duty! We will definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu!

Had a lovely lunch date at The Hand & Spear and the plant based burger and fries were super yummy. My date had never tried one before and he really enjoyed it! Really nice hotel pub and restaurant with nice outdoor space and lovely helpful staff. Only slight issue was being served a large white wine spritzer when I had asked for a small. Quite pricey too but a lovely place and will definitely return to try a roast dinner as a treat sometime as those looked ace. Highly recommend. :)

Service was fast and friendly. Sunday roast portions were very large; you won't go hungry. The setting was nice, with reasonable space. Prices were fair.

A rare gem. Funky, quirky, superb service, the staff are ALL charming and intelligent. We had room 12 and it's brilliant... The food was excellent, breakfast was fabulous... I can't currently think of a particularly good reason for going back to that part of London, but I shall bally well find one so we can stay again!
