The George Evelyn Pub & Gardens in Elmbridge

First time in this pub but worst experience. Members of staffs looked unhappy and grumpy, I assume they hate their job and not paid well enough. Seems to me, they hate to see customers. We went to another pub in Thames Ditton, food was was ok but we were greeted with smiles and that makes big differences.This place used to be good as per my friends advice but now we faced with new owners.

Visited this place on a Sunday. Food was superb. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Calzone was lovely and the beef roast was also great. They also have a lady working there from the Ukraine 🇺🇦 Who was really really good to our children. 100% recommended.

We chose The George Evelyn to host our 70th at the weekend with appx 100 guests. The venue was perfect with a large garden with play area to occupy our many grandchildren. The buffet was excellant really top notch. But what stood out was the management and staff, nothing was too much trouble. They made sure everything went smoothly which meant we were free to enjoy ourselves.Absolutley recommend it

Sunday lunch on mothers day was really nice, the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!

Roast was to an excellent quality, so many places can't do roasts. Service was also good.

We had a really nice Roast (pork belly) dinner here on Sunday. Lots of flavour and well seasoned. Very friendly staff too. Just a shame only 1 real ale available on that particular day.

Lovely place. Love the garden. Friendly staff. Inconsistent prices though. 2 people in our group ordered the same drinks but paid different prices!?

Pub has changed hands a number of times in recent years. It's a nice enough venue but the seating layout is poor, so people tend to congregate in the garden or car park, where there is insufficient seating.Unfortunately, the pub has started attracting a different kind of clientele recently and, whether a coincidence or not, fights, late night arguments in the car park and damage to local cars and property have increased significantly.It's disappointing to have a write a negative review of a local establishment, but I honestly couldn;lt recommend the George Evelyn when there are better run pubs nearby.
