Friendly staff. Would of given them another star, but Jubilee week they closed kitchen very early, and had to relocate to another hostelry. Good pub grub. Atmospheric low oak beamed bar. Open hearth fire, which is inviting in winter months. Extensive outside space, though not very inviting, a bit bland. Has a secure electric gated car park, need a token to get out.

Had a private function here after a wedding. A good menu, decent food and excellent service. Nothing ostentatious, but all very nice and I couldn't fault it at all

One of our favourite places to stop by from time to time. But our last visit was very disappointing. The place has a good atmosphere and the staff are very friendly which made it all the more difficult to tell the waitress that the food was just bad. Tiny over priced portions that did not reflect the menu description imo, some dishes were dry, others over cooked and some were supposed be chargrilled but drowned in tasteless sauce. The staff reacted graciously and struck the food from the bill despite offering to pay in full. We ended up having to go down to Coppa for dinner instead.TLDR to Management please fix the food quality and prices, we like this pub a lot and is somewhere we like to bring family when they are in town.

Lovely place with character. Love everything about it. Staff really friendly.

Hit and miss. Nice place. Good service. Enjoyed the mains - juicy burger, decent fries - but the starters were greasy and the adult and kids desserts let them down (uncooked fruit). If we’d stuck to mains we’d have given 5 stars. Family of 4.

Very family friendly. A lot of space inside and outside. Heaters for the outside area to keep you warm. Very convenient.Food was also good. Small menu, but good food was served.

Lovely staff... food lacking? Something... for example, if menu says charred leeks, one should expect charred leeks! Not thinly sliced, slightly undercooked steamed? leeks... prices could do with a review too!

Only stopped off for lunchtime drinks but was very pleased with the place. Nice open fire and the staff were very friendly and quick to serve.

I have passed this place many times and have always wanted to go in. I was glad that I did finally pop in.I sat outside with a great view onto the water and mill on the other side of the road. The building itself is wonderful to look at. I didn’t venture inside but from what I saw it looks like a genuine countryside pub.My tasty club sandwich served by very friendly staff.A really nice experience.

Great to eat out with 4 friends! Sat outside with a beer as one was a bit late. Great table inside for food but it was seriously dark! One was using the torch on his phone to read the menu. My fish and chips was good. No complaints from the others. Photos are poor because it was dark and the lens was a bit dirty.
