China Chef in Epsom and Ewell

MSG laden YUCK!Thought we would try a different Chinese takeaway than our usual .£10 more than our usual takeaway we where left disappointed. The beef dish was slimy and after a few bites we decided, no more! The crab claws also very weird taste and left me feeling a bit sick.Some of the other items were fine but it was overall rather disappointing.Back to our regular and sticking with it this time!

Ordered tonight, came quickly, hot, tasty and not swimming in grease. Really enjoyed this, got a complimentary coke for hubby’s birthday.

We ordered a takeaway for delivery last weekend.We was told an hour. It never came. We called the first time to be told it was on its way. After 15 minutes we where told the same. Again we called and they said we would receive £10 for the inconvenience. This did not happen after being promised. Once the food arrived it was not hot. The delivery drive is 4 minutes. This is such poor service. Really ruined the night. You have lost customers. Certainly us because of your lack of care. Lots more reading this. If anyone is happy to wait nearly 2 hours for food that was not even hot.

Absolutely awful service. Had previously ordered and had a good experience a few weeks ago. Tonight, delivery took 1 hour 40 min. Called and was told it was nearly here (my address wasn’t asked for). Called again 15 min later and told the same thing. Finally turned up cold and the driver told me he had the food for 30 minutes. They are a 10 minute drive away. Lady on the phone less than helpful and extremely rude. Will never use them again.

Quite poor. Curry powder in Special Fried Rice is a first with poor quality meats and pieces of gristle - really below par. Probably the worst hot n sour soup I’ve ever tasted. Ridiculous amounts of salt and complete lack of flavour made me throw this away. Sorry guys, while I don’t expect anything special from a Chinese Takeaway compared to my visits to HKG and Beijing this would make any Chinese national feel quite ashamed.

Better than some of the other Chinese restaurants in the area. I would say the food is what you would expect. Nothing spectacular, staff seem friendly enough.

Ordered at delivery at 6.15pm its now 8pm and still hasn't arrived restaurant blamed the rain...!!!!

Always satisfied with the food I order from China Chef. Delivery is always quick, and collection is always hassle free. I usually opt for the usual items of crispy shredded beef, duck pancakes and special fried rice. Good portions, and the 1/4 duck comes already off the bone which saved a lot of messing around.

Great service delivered on time requests. Fantastic food and piping hot when it arrived aswell the prawn toast was crispy and not greasy the prawn crackers were delicious. The whole family been converted. Don’t normally do reviews but felt like I had to as was really nice. Social distance on delivery aswell with driver wearing masking to top service.
