Really great food and service! Was here for an event with 50 people and it was seamless. Lamb was really really good also! Update - have been back twice since for family meals and haven't been disappointed in any part of our visits

Great pub and food is really good but if you have children and think they will be able to run around in the pub garden like children do, don't come here.We were told children are not allowed to run and needs to stay at the table at all times. This is difficult when you are in a company of friends with children between ages of 4 - 10. Shame. This made our visit rather stressful. We won't come again.

The experience was not as expected. I was told great things but the food was not at the standard described. The waiter was exceptional, and lived up to the reputation he was given. Would go back for a drink but not to eat.

Went for afternoon tea. I had a dairy free option, which was a bit disappointing. The sandwiches had been made in advance and were dry and crusty on one side. The scones were quite hard and chewy and the cream alternative was margarine. Its nice to have a dairy free option so that's a positive and the service was good. The scones on the normal tea looked good but again some of the sandwiches were dried out.

Food is outstanding, there were 6 of us all with different orders and everyone really enjoyed enjoyed all 3 courses. The service was exemplary, a perfect balance of professional and naturally friendly, the likes of which is so hard to pull off. We will definitely be repeat customers.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at this Epsom Grumpy Mole, with friendly and efficient service. We have eaten at several other Grumpy Moles and in terms of the food quality this one was slightly under par. My husband's stone for his steak wasn't as hot as it could have been, so he struggled to "cook" his steak to his liking. My liver wasn't as tender as I have had at other venues, but that may be due to the luck of the draw rather than the quality of cooking. We certainly enjoyed our meals though, and my side vegetables were absolutely delicious.Regarding wine, I wouldn't recommend the House Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, it tastes really cheap and metallic. It's very cosy inside, we actually sat in the bar area rather than the restaurant part, as we wanted a more informal experience. There are very few parking spaces available, so expect to park on the road outside.Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this venue, as well as good food and service, it has a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Had the afternoon tea option to celebrate 2 birthdays (70) and there were 12 of us. The event had been booked well in advance but the table was laid up for a late lunch/early dinner! The tea/coffee was served first and had started to cool considerably by the time it was sorted out and the food arrived. The scones and cream were good but the sandwiches were small with very meagre fillings. The cakes were minute little offerings. I live in the West Country so the bar for a Cream Tea is, admittedly, a high one. I've eaten at the Grumpy Mole in the evening and it was much better!

I eat out a lot and so I say this with some considerable experience: the meal I had here recently was the best I've had in years. 3 courses and each one was perfect. Service was prompt, polite and professional.I look forward to coming back on a regular basis.

Such a hidden gem. Had dinner there last night, where we sat outside in the covered patio with heaters on. It was raining but it was fantastic! Nice atmosphere and great food! Will be going back there again
