The Rising Sun in Epsom and Ewell

Great service on Mother’s Day, with a lovely welcoming drink they handed to my mum as we were seated. Two waitresses looked after us and both were very polite. My mum was very pleased about the service and we all enjoyed our meal. Thank you to the team. Another Big Smoke pub ticked off the list, I’m sure we’ll be back to this one soon too.

Great pub with a lovely atmosphere. Staff are really welcoming and attentive. Out starter was a bit cold but we highlighted his and it was quickly resolved and nice hot starters then sent out. Food was really nice. Would definitely return. A hidden gem in Epsom.

Nice place, pleasant staff and lovely to go to a pub that doesn't have have piped music, games machines or sport on TV. In other words it's a proper pub for people who can go for a drink and actually to socialise with each other like grown-ups. Dog-friendly too! Parking is a nightmare (all resident-permit-only, except for three spaces), but that's not their fault. I'm told the beer is good. The food is also good but, to my mind, pricey for a pub - you won't see change from £20 for a main course and a dessert.

The service here was very good with everyone being very friendly and attentive. Felt like walking into my living room kind of place. Food was good too, although they need to change the kids pasta dish, which they already said they were going to do. Everyone in our group came out smiling which is great! I will come here again and try our their special nights as they sounded yummy.

We had Christmas day dinner at the Rising Sun. The food was excellent, especially the delicious Festive Nut Roasts, with veg cooked just right. Very good value for a Xmas Day meal. Everyone was very friendly and helpful … highly recommended.

Craft beers are not what many older regulars want and aren’t up for experimenting, keep the guest beers coming. It would be nice to see more female staff but otherwise it’s a comfortable enough transformation. Like many pubs now the Rising Sun has to decide if it’s principally a drinkers or eaters venue. With plenty of dining options in Epsom a hospitable local is very welcome with good beer and simple but tasty pub food.

Great to see a new lease of life brought to this pub! Went in on opening night, loads of great beers and staff seemed really nice and friendly. Not tried the food yet but looked and smelled pretty good!

the pub garden is absolutely beautiful. Chef Eva is very attentive and her burger is the best I've had in London. And then there's Ruby, the most beautiful little dog I've ever met. I loved it and will definitely go back.
