Toby Carvery Hogsmill in Epsom and Ewell

I have a great dinner and delicious Thanks to the kitchen manager who helped me by cooking for me all the veg without any butter as I like them...

I enyoyed the beef and the vegetables, I'm gluten and dairy free. The rest of my party enjoyed all the other dishes too. I saw a gluten free gravy once but not on this occasion

Have a fantastic time. So glad they put us in a quiet corner. Staff were lovely and ensure if we needed anything they were there to get it (pud, doggie bag box, drinks)

When we arrived no staff were anywhere to be seen and we were kept waiting for almost fifteen minutes standing there like fools not knowing. We were just about to leave (as was a bewildered family behind us also waiting) when a voice yelled across the room at us "HOW MANY???!!!" and we were vaguely waved in the direction of a table by the woman who yelled.She disappeared again before we even reached the table; we were left to seat ourselves and kept waitimg a further twenty minutes before someone appeared to take our drinks order. Drinks arrived quickly and we then went up to the Carvery deck. No staff there either. A man entered from the kitchen and emptied a dish of roast potatoes over another dish which was ready full of very old looking roast potatoes, glared at us, then walked off again without a single word of acknowledgement. How much effort does it take to say "Sorry for the delay, folks, we'll be right with you."?Especially when the restaurant is incredibly quiet with no more than four occupied tables in the whole place?Then another man appeared and eventually served us. What we were served was delicious and we did enjoy the meal. We then tried the Toby app (preparing to pay) to discover our order had been blended with another table - with half of our items missing and a stack of other things we didn't have. I queried this and our waitress - the only person we encountered that day with any manners - sorted it out quickly and courteously, we paid, and we left.I don't expect miracles in a Toby Carvery, but I would like you to get the basics right; reasonably quick service, basic politeness, staff available at key contact points, and accurate billing.I've been coming to this Toby for more than a decade. This was an unusually poor experience. You usually get it right. Shame it was such a failure on this occasion.

Food was delicious, and the fact that I eat little and often was very grateful to be given the means to take food home. And the staff were professional, helpful and extremely friendly. First class 👍

A lovely Toby. Really relaxing. The member of staff who served us was brill couldn't do enough for us even when we pointed out the gravy wasn't hot she stopped wrist she was doing and got them all replaced immediately and couldn't apologise enough. Well definitely visit this one again. Food was yummy.

Very busy place. Staff and chefs work nonstop. Visited a few times to eat and can never fault the food. I do recommend visiting outside of peak hours. Was in and out faster than a trip to McDonald’s. Faster service than most fast food chains.

I love Toby. I only wish that they were more proactive in serving customers rather than chatting around Aside from that, I do come here every week and I find it great 👍🏼

who doesnt love a roast and Toby never fails to hit the spot. the bartender named Jenna makes the most amazing cocktails (a bit dangerous though as they go down way too easily). was impressed that the manager actually came over and introduced himself and ensured all was well. fabulous service.excellent food. great value. will be back.
