Beautiful setting, down on the river, overlooking lots of boats, lots of people enjoy afternoon tea, but such low service! I wanted a hot chocolate and a glass of water, it took close to 45min to place my order and be served. Real shame, this place could have a lot going for it.

Looking forward to a catch up coffee today we headed to our favourite spot to be turned away. At 14:06, told no walk-ins, place was pretty much empty, lots of tables empty. When I queried that we could sit on one of the empty tables or one of the tables outside which were completely empty I was rudely told that “yes it’s empty because the lunch rush is over but we’re not taking walk ins”. If I owned this place and my staff turned away customers and spoke to them the. way we were spoken to when the restaurant was barely 60% full I would be having a serious sit down chat with my employees. Take your custom across the road to the lovely pub that are most welcome!

Disappointing Valentines late lunch - no Happy Valentines welcome, no pizzas, no decorations and no chocolate tart. There was 1 young lady trying her best to serve the whole floor which really didn’t help. The £14 burger was no more than a beef patty and basic trimmings in a burger van roll. Perhaps we got the wrong day?! It’s amazing 2 siblings can be so different, is this really the sister venue of Kimbridge Barn?

Myself and my husband visited the boathouse on Saturday 30th at around 7.30 a very warm welcome from all the staff . The drinks were served very quickly and it made a change the champagne was poured for us and not just put on the table for us to do . Food was amazing and my husband can not have dairy and the chef change the starter so no cream was in it , and it was lovely. Steak and fish for main course again both cooked beautifully 😋 many thanks to all

Very attentive staff. Conduct themselves with a smile. I came to visit my dad who is 86 and the boathouse is always our first choice to catch up over a lovely breakfast. A great father and son moment. #memories

Lovely, casual and relaxed marina side dining/drinks. Jo (Manager) runs a great team of friendly, professional staff. Reasonable menu and prices. Recommended.

Visited The Boat House Cafe with my friend, we had a table booked at 17:30 and I arrived a bit later ! (Working in NHS) .We had a very tasty fish and chips and soft drinks and wine and desert. All very nice. Staff very helpful and polite, because I arrived late we overruned a bit, so we moved on to the deck chairs and we had a wonderful evening. Thank you for giving us a wonderful experience . We will definitely return !

Very busy Saturday evening. Welcome and seating well managed, very attentive waiting staff. Cracking setting … especially if you can secure an outdoor table. Decent food a tad pricey but accept a very scenic setting.

The little takeaway coffee cart outside Paddle is a really nice place to stop off before and after a walk with brilliant view of the marina. They have tables and chairs you can either sit and relax or takeaway. The prices are good and affordable. The honeycomb tiffin was amazing, and for only £2 it was a bargain. The lady serving was very polite and friendly. Get there in good time so you don’t miss out on the tiffin!
