Our first visit to this place, we arrived quite late, but they still provided food for 7 of us , very nice atmosphere, and the people behind the bar were very friendly, the food was good, keenly priced, freshly cooked, hot and tasty, I would not hesitate to visit again when I am back down that way

Lovely local pub on my doorstep. There isn’t many places that make you feel welcome as much as this one does. The staff are all so friendly. Even in the hotter months, the brilliant owner gave my little one an ice lolly on the house which was so thoughtful. The food has never let us down, the events are always entertaining and it’s a good atmosphere in this pub. A bonus as well, it’s always so clean in there. 10/10 a pleasure coming down for drinks or lunch. My mum even loves it here, she holds good memories with this pub.

Lovely family pub. Always an enjoyable atmosphere and great food! I travel a 13 mile round trip to enjoy the facilities and services Dave and his team offer. Highly recommended.

What a great place. The barman took my unfinished pint as he thought i had left, but when i returned from the toilet he bought me a fresh 1/2 pint. Top guy. The food smelled lovely so i will be back 👍

Great pub with a friendly atmosphere. I've moved away from the area now but still go back with the family and enjoy the warm welcome when I do.

The pub was fairly quiet when we had a Sunday roast. It was plentiful and good enough but piled on small plate; presentation could be better. Friendly and helpful staff.

Okay, so went here on the recommendation of people at work who said the food was "really good and a reasonable price".Not sure what world they live in but definitely not mine.I went with my two daughters, we ordered x2 of the half pounders (with added cheese), a kids meal chicken nuggets, a half pint diet coke and a pint of carling.Paid £.75p each for the added cheese and it wasn't even real cheese, was what I call plastic cheese but is know as Kraft individually wrapped cheese slices (not what I expected for a £9 pub burger. The burger buns where what I am assuming to be Warbertons burger buns which where too small for the burger and where actually stale. My kids chicken nuggets came in two different varieties (must have run out of one back and had to use a pack that was a different brand) and they came on a cheap plastic plate (same ones we have at home that they had when they where babies). The chips where not actually cooked properly and where inedible.Condiments came in packets and didn't have enough catsup for everyone (which didn't really matter as no one could eat the chips. The total for everything was £30.75! Which for pub food to me feels extortionate, not even factoring in that we all left hungry.I will never eat here again, eating out is a treat for me, a luxury, so I really hate wasting my money on horrible food, but thought I would try this pub based on recommendations. At least I know now and didn't suffer the embarrassment of taking a woman on a date there. LolThere are so many better alternatives out there, I would recommend you find a better place to eat and avoid this pub.

We celebrate with family at SJP following the Christening of Our Son. The staff couldn't do more to help us and even opened the pub early for us to enjoy time together before dinner.Food is lovely, massive portions and very tasty.

We booked a table for 8 as a birthday celebration. The staff were friendly and polite. Service was efficient and quick. Great atmosphere. The landlady and landlord both visited our table to make sure we had everything we needed nothing was too much trouble. Best of all ALL our meals were different and great tasting food. Definatly will be going back again
