All the vegetables were frozen veg but advertised as fresh on the menu. The "home roasted potatoes" were like deep fried frozen potatoes. All of it cold. Thought we were getting a proper pub roast.

Haven't eaten here for a couple of years as it wasn't great previously, however my daughter and I stopped in for dinner this evening after getting off the train and having a long wet and windy day in Southampton, we ordered food, drinks and pudding and I couldn't fault it at all, the staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming as well, it finished off a lovely day with my daughter. Thank you village Inn xx

Nice place.Really roomy.Selection of ales were limited as a couple of pumps empty.Staff friendly, but bar frequently empty leaving me to wait before an order could be made.Definitely room for improvement

Nice to see this place getting back on the map. Had a lovely visit today, couldn't fault the team or the food. We'll definitely be coming back.

Can't fault it. Had a few good meals here. It isn't posh grub, but for the price and size of the portions you really can't complain! Staff are always friendly and it's clean and tidy inside. Will definitely return time and time again

visited the Village Inn tonight , 3 adults and a 2 1/2 year old. warm welcome, great service and atmosphere . Food was super hot and very tasty, good value for money too. the manager was very helpful and courteous and the whole place seemed to be running very smoothly under his guidance. well done and we will return, highly recommended !

Most dissatisfied ordered a turkey carvary at 2pm today via table app nothing to say they were out of carvary meals order our drink and pay when the drinks were brought to the table we were told they had sold out of carvary meals they said please order a meal from the main menu so husband and I ordered fish and chips should have just asked for our money back and gone elsewhere the only edible part of the meal was the chips peas were cold and the batter so overcooked it shattered when you managed to get your knife in it will never return to this place. Did try and find somebody to speak to but no luck in the end went home to get something to eat. I did take photos

Will never go there again. Ordered 5 meals. 2 of which were Sunday roast. When it game we had 2 roast potatoes which were deep fried. a helping of frozen mixed veg and 2 literally dried up shrivelled parsnips. The menu stated fresh spring greens, honey roast parsnips and chardoney carrots. The meat had been reheated .. when we showed our concern we were told the oven had broken in the morning and we were going to close, but didnt Regarding the spring greens and carrots, they were seasonal. Really, not available in January !!!! Why were we not told the roast dinners were off the menu. My grandson had a cheeseburger. The cheese was transparent rubber and the burger about 2 inch s x quarter inch thick we will never return to this place. The bill was hefty with drinks and puddings. Well we did get a £22 pound refund

Slightly disappointing Sunday roast. Tasteless vegetables which apart from the parsnip weren't fresh. Asked for horseradish sauce, jar brought to table no spoon and it had been opened and already used. Cheap but not a good meal.

Booked table for today 5th December for 6 people to celebrate my grandson's 12th birthday. Meals were great, few choices weren't available but that's expected at the moment. Really lovely staff and fantastic value for money, everyone ate everything on their plates, a great family place to go. I have been many times and will definitely continue to do so.
