I do not like leaving negative reviews but felt cheated by a 'lamb' curry which was obviously made from cubes of pre-cooked dry and indigestible BEEF. Some of the meal was OK but most of it swimming in oil.

Chicken undercooked. Lamb very tough. Forgot the rice. Last time I ordered they forgot the samosas. Will not be using again.

Absolutely shocking wait times for food to be delivered just under 2 hours rubbish especially with a £5 charge for delivery. Food was cold, very greasy & not that tasty at all. Definitely was not worth the wait & wont be returning again.

Another Indian takeaway. This is the first time I've tried Bay Leaves, and having my favourites in Gosport I was ready to be completely biased towards them... especially since it's in the same road.Delivery was pretty quick, I ordered my usual lamb madras and keema rice - it makes it nice and easy to compare.Delivery was quick, and the driver was retreating to the car already before I'd opened the door, probably because he didn't use the doorbell so it took a minute for me to gather he was tapping the door while I was crapping my pants in the dark watching The Unholy - which is actually pretty good.We paused it.We dished up.I have an issue with some restaurants and lamb and my last review for a chinese lamb was... vulgar... but true. The lamb was lush. Lush lamb and cooked perfectly. Cant fault it - fablamb. The madras tasted of madras, and very nice too, Bay Leaves doesn't go too heavy on the spices so it was quite mild, which I dont mind, for a change. It was delicious, and if you want that bit of an extra kick I'd add the extra heat in for an extra 50p when you're ordering which is great idea. Curry isn't about heat, it's about flavour and I have to say I'd definitely have it again. The keema rice was probably the nicest flavoured keema rice I've had, it was really good with perfectly cooked rice, great seasoning and lovely lamb mince.Summary: Torn between 3 and 4 stars. As I've read in other reviews the curry was VERY oily, when I dished up I scooped lamb and sauce from the oil and left a sizeable puddle in the tray. Not attractive at all and unnecessary, if they made a bit of an effort when decanting it would make the whole experience so much better. The popadoms weren't great either but edible, and most deliveries from any restaurant will be hit and miss depending on when they were made. In the end, 4 stars, because other than working around the oil slicks the food was really good. I'll be ordering from them again at some point.

I've done it now, my wife said don't put a review on here because more people will try it and they will be very busy meaning a longer wait for our orders. I'm not joking at the time of posting we have had numerous home deliveries from here and Im totally impressed with the quality of food and it arriving hot! Yes hot! We love our Indian food the look, taste and smell is sheer heaven, so against my wife's wishes pop along to Stoke Rd and give this diamond of a curry shop a try I'm pretty sure that you won't be disappointed.

A terrible first impression. To expand on the above:1.Food was saturated with oil and food colouring to an excessive level (It is never a good sign when you take food out of the bag and it immediately drips oil everywhere)2. I have never known a Tikka Masala to be a disturbingly vibrant red.3.The lemon rice had never encountered a lemon so far as I can tell and was simply oily 'yellow rice'.4.The naans were okay and were the best inhouse prepared item, but I feel just being 'okay' is a minimum expectation, and should not be the high point.5.The Bombay potatoes were a sad disappointment with no flavour and again soaked in oil and colouring.6. The food was delivered by an unescorted child, presumably an adult driver was nearby but we cannot confirm(I admittedly don't know if this was Bay Leaves own driver, or a contractor, but I feel it important to mention this, as it is a worrying thought)Most of the food ended up going in the bin. While not outright disgusting, the bland taste, combined with incredibly greasy texture and unappealing sight due to excessive colouring ruined any desire to eat it.The best thing I can say about the food is that it arrived hot and if that is your minimum bar for a quality meal then go right on ahead, otherwise I would suggest looking elsewhere.

Tonight thought would try these guy out and what an amazing meal we had. Totally best curry had for long time and have different local curry houses but these guys are the best in Gosport. Will be using them again. Complements to the chef.
