"Hello everyone welcome . I would like to introduce myself and my husband Bev and Phil mitchell as the new landlady and landlord of The fox which is the oldest pub in the area, having opened in 1736 – and later becoming a popular drinking haunt of Admiral Nelson, according to local legend. It is a traditional and attractive pub based behind the busy high street of Gosport. It is situated adjacent to a residential area and has plenty of shops and businesses surrounding the pub. It's had a refurb and looks lovely. We will be a family run pub with good home made food and a friendly welcome."

Thought we'd have a bit of a pub crawl around Gosport to some of the old haunts from my Navy days in the 70's. What a terrific pub, immaculately clean, staff really friendly - if it was in Doncaster it would certainly be my local.

Pleasant staff. Family-run pub. Good value. Beer garden. Worth seeking out, just off North Street. I've heard the food is really good although I have yet to try it myself.

Absolutely fantastic atmosphere, local lad with a midlands woman. Hospitality is unreal, my first night I felt like a local - never left out of anything. I cant express how lovely this pub is and it's tucked away from the new roads because of its old original location. There's more to offer like food but I've experienced my first night, one step at a time!I would definitely recommend and hopefully see you soon...

Been here a couple of times now. New owners who serve lovely food at good prices. I always loved the vibes at The Fox. Now it's clean, serving food and with a friendly welcome. I highly recommend a visit to this historic. proper pub

Had an amazing night. Staff are so friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have a really good night. Prices really reasonable. Currently asking customers to wear face masks to keep everyone safe despite the relaxation of govt guidance. We will definitely be back.

Lived here 8 years and had never visited...what a mistake! A warm and friendly welcome and a lively atmosphere. Comfortable beer garden. Ordered something that wasn't on the menu but the landlady, Bev, most certainly came to the fore. Will definitely be going back for more banter and food.

Bev and Phil have definitely made a difference to the Fox. I grew up on the estate that the pub is on and I never went in when I was younger. It’s nice to see the pub thriving, and is a really nice place to drink. Bev does all home cooked food, and the food is amazing at great prices. Would highly recommend 😀😀
