9.30am, friday morning and the only customers. I went with a relative, had the big breakfast with 2 coffees. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food came out really quickly. It was all very nice expect the beans, the beans on the plate came out in a gravy boat looking thing and they looked like they had been sat a while, tried them and they weren't nice, everything else in the meal was lovely though especially the bacon. Would have been 5 stars but the beans were a bit of a let down. It was a lovely pub too with such a lovely view of the solent and isle of wight. Will definitely go back.

Very disappointed from this visit! Haven’t been her in a while and the food was terrible.50% of mains that I wouldn’t even pay a Ā£1 for! The food was not as described, I ordered a old faithful burger (served in a deeded and not brioche bun) as well as my partner ordering a steak. After an hour wait on food- The steak was freezing, nobody to ask for help. My burger came out without onion rings and my side of Mac and cheese, when asked where they were the staff member just looked very puzzled as if it was our problem. There was no sense of urgency. The chips were cold and tasted like they had been left there for ages. I would have rather stayed home and cooked a meal for our anniversary, this was not worth the trip.I have reported this and commented on my service today so hoping to see hr deal with this is an orderly manner.I’ve always been a visitor to the old ship prior to lockdown etc but I will not be returning. If you look at the photos you will see the fatty steak! And the non existent bbq sauce which my burger is supposed to have as well as the freezing cold unmelted cheese that looked as if it’s been launched on my burger.

We stopped in by chance after walking along the seafront and was super glad we did. The food is so good, I had a steak sandwich with high quality steak cooked medium rare how I wanted and put together with amazing flavour in the sandwich. Just epic. 100% recommend coming here.

This is a lovely pub with great views looking over to the solent and the Isle of Wight. We had dinner, we had the lemon chicken skewers, which were delicious and the chicken platter which was large and delicious. We were stuffed after that but managed to eat a pudding, apple caramel crumble with custard and ice cream and a sticky toffee pud also with custard and ice cream. Both really tasty. The staff were all very nice and service was very quick. We loved the food, we will definitely be going back again. *****

Had a meal there Saturday evening. Staff were very friendly and the food arrived quickly and piping hot. Living locally we've eaten there on numerous occasions and this was probably the best meal we've had there .Excellent value for money.

Saturday evening but not overly busySteaks under cooked and tough and grizzly, chips over cooked and hard, pie crust that could not be cut it was so hard completely inedible. Very disappointing. What sort of steak house does not have horseradish.Have visited before and it was very good. This time however service was good but food in general was terrible. Will not be returning šŸ˜’

Good food for the price and a lovely location. Only issue was the accuracy of the order but to be honest we were so hungry we didn't care.

Lovely meal. 1 mixed grill & 1 steak/chicken fillet meal. Both brought out well presented & on sizzlers. Well cooked & very yummy would def recommend & will be back for more!

Probably the worst fish and chips in the world! Don’t bother coming here unless you want to enjoy the view and have a drink. Haddock overcooked so much I couldn’t break through the batter without hitting it with force. Paid extra for sweet potato fries which came out uniquely burnt but soggy. Best part was the peas and tartare sauce. Seriously don’t chance the food it’s awful. Only got one star because staff were nice.

Very good value for money. The chicken burger and the curry fries were excellent. The mobile app was easy to use, and came with a complimentary free drink when you sign up which is ever better ! The staff were very friendly and it's right next to the sea which offers great views across the Solent. Great place to stop for a light snack or a meal.
