If you can find it, good luck. It's like a treasure map with few clues. Very good food and drinks from this new venture. Our waiter certainly knew his way around the menu and steered us well. The local brew is very drinkable.

Great food and drink at very reasonable prices. Great guest beers on offer that change regularly. The bar itself is a very interesting place with the original bread ovens still in place and made into a feature. Highly recommend a visit

Have been for Sunday lunch on three occasions. On each one the roast has been superb and plenty of good vegetables.Today I decided to have fish and that was equally good.Service is attentive without being intrusive.Given how crowded most places are it can only be being hidden away in Clarence marina that means that it is not hectic as the food is excellent.

Very good food with a varied menu. Staff friendly and efficient. Sports Bar theme (lots of screens) may not suit all but it wasn't too obtrusive. Avoid match days? Not a lot of signage, perhaps due to listed building status, but don't be out off. The old bakers ovens are an interesting feature. We'll be back.

I don’t think anyone here particularly likes their job if I’m honest. Prawn skewers completely unseasoned, just warm and bland, charcoal bread slices, extremely slow service, no apology for the delay of over 40 minutes, waiter looked extremely sad and we felt like we were an inconvenience to even be there before we’d even asked for anything yet. We were sat there at 10pm with every other customer gone and they still didn’t come and ask us how the food was (awful) or if we wanted the bill. Won’t be coming back, would’ve asked for my bill to be cancelled or reduced but to be honest we just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We aren’t picky people, we don’t have crazy standards we just expected to eat food from someone who actually enjoys cooking, and be served by someone who actually wasn’t devastated to be there.

Service is very poor here. Table of 8 people booked for 7pm on a Monday evening so you wouldn’t expect such slow or poor service, given there were only a few other tables. Had to go to the bar to re-order some more drinks (and deliver them to the table myself). Plates were not cleared off the table and we were not offered dessert. When I asked the waiter if we could see the dessert menu he told me the chef had gone home! It wasn’t even 9pm - you’d expect the chef to at least offer dessert before clocking off. Very disappointing and when we gave the waiting staff a bit of feedback they became very grumpy and stompy round the restaurant.Such a shame as I have been here a few times and the food has always been amazing (hence my 2 stars!) but I won’t come again, the service really let this restaurant down and reading other reviews I don’t seem to be alone with this opinion.

Awful Sunday lunch. 3 of us had pork belly which was inedible - tough, couldnt cut it even with a steak knife! They replaced it with beef but that was tough and tasteless too. A gammon was OK, the veg were nice and they apologised and didnt charge us. Another couple walked out without paying while we were there as their meal was so poor.

My sister has hired the upstairs area of Bakers Bar for her wedding reception. The staff were attentive, polite and worked tirelessly to ensure that the day was a success. They put up all the decorations before we got there when we thought we would have had to do this ourselves and they really went above and beyond. The food was well prepared and cooked to perfection. Cannot give enough praise for the staff here who really helped make the day run smoothly. Thank you!

Great location & amazing interior. Some outside seating too. (We cycled so not sure where the nearest parking is?) Only had a coffee (👍) today. Will return to sample beer & food. Friendly staff ('Kat' if I recall correctly.) Wide selection of beers & grub. Looks new. If so, someone has spent a fortune on it! 🤔.
