Our first visit was excellent with great friendly service and great food. 4 **** for that visit. This time it was poor. What has happened? Our dishes came along at different times, were given food we did not order, had to chase food that we did order, had my wife's food cleared away before she finished and I had to send mine back. This was, to be fair, replaced with another dish straight away. The food was however very nice and well worth eating !The service was at best chaotic and felt like it needed two more staff serving. If you want to be a café style restaurant, then please charge accordingly and not the prices you charge for the service we received. We will come along again and I will change this review if things have improved.

Going down hill fast. Went to celebrate birthday and was so disappointed with total lack of service. So lacking, in fact, that we gave up after 20 minutes and went somewhere else. Such a disappointment. What is happening? You were, up until very recently, one of the best restaurants in Gosport and now you're turning into just an also-ran. C'mon guys, get it together please!

Great location overlooking the harbour. Had lunch which was excellent, we were able to sit on the top deck of the lightship in fine sunny weather. Fantastic service. Highly recommend.

Overpriced for underwhelming and unseasoned food. For a floating harbour restaurant they could be so much better by focusing on fish dishes instead of offering a mish mash menu of unconnected dishes that aren't cooked authentically or with appropriate knowledge. They really ought to know their USP and stick with it. And automatically adding 10% service charge to the bill is bad form. If I want to tip service staff I should be able to directly. Having worked the catering industry I know with certainty staff getting the service charge as extra in wages is highly unlikely 😡

Not as good as previous visits. They now have a separate lunch and dinner menu. Although the chef did allow us to have a starter from the dinner menu with a side order, this was not as nice as previous times. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food prices are too high for what you get. Its ok if the weather's good and you can sit outside as the views across the harbour are lovely. Sorry but will not be rushing back anytime soon.

Went for dinner with my husband last night. Very impressed! We were greeted at the entrance, where our temperature was checked, and hand sanitizer used. Shown to our table by lovely waitress, and thoroughly enjoyed our rib eye steaks with scallops. Washed down with a nice bottle of Hungarian wine. Hubby finished with sherry trifle, I just finished the wine! Good service, lovely food, great evening. Thankyou!👏😃

First time back since the refit, looks lovely and fresh. They have a great tapas menu and a wide range of gins. Staff are friendly and very welcoming. It’s the place to come to unwind and watch the boats go by.

Another hole in one from the group behind Trinity's! We got to find out about this restaurant from a visit to Trinity's @ Haslar (formerly Hardy's) although I've been aware of the lightship for years. My wife Jenni phoned for a reservation and we were accompanied by my Mother-in-law and Jenni's best friend. You need to gain entry to the marina to visit but it's well worth the extra step to eat on a lightship!Inside the stern cabin is spacious with bench seating and well lit. There is a bar through to the fore ends and also upper deck seating outside. The menu is predominantly seafood with choices for tapas and steaks from the grill too. I had the seafood chowder to start which can also be ordered as a a main. It was really flavourful and very filling, if you weren't greedy like me that would be enough food for most people! They weren't shy on the fish and mussels either with both in plentiful supply. For my main course I had the daily special which was half a dressed crab and frites. I am a huge fan of crab so it was an easy choice. We were lucky to get a time of year where the catch was so well portioned, Jenni had mussels in white wine and cream and they were enormous!I would say the menu is not exceptionally large but if you eat here it's the experience of sitting in the cabin and having a good chat, watching the harbour than just merely eating and leaving. The staff were really friendly and accommodating, it is essential you make a reservation if you are from out of town!Trinity's Lightship would be a nice to place to visit at anytime but I recommend the evening when the light gets low, that's the best time to be eating by the sea right?

The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff are relaxed and friendly. We happened to go for a Christmas dinner, and chose the worst day possible - a force 8 gale was rocking the boat, which is well inside the harbour, so much that our glasses were sliding around the table. Two of our party - myself included - became very seasick (I felt like such a wuss) and could hardly eat anything. Even one of the cooks downstairs was suffering! The lamb was delicious, and I can recommend the trifle too, even though I was limited in the amount of either that I could manage to eat.A memorable and lovely meal shared.
