Very atmospheric hotel,old british style.Very friendly owner.Restaurant is nice and calm,good food. Plumbing,ventilation and heating can be upgraded.

Very nice hotel indeed. The owner is very much accomodating and hospitable to us.

From the moment we walked in the door until we left 3 days later, the service and attention was excellent without being over bearing. All because of a local cab company recommendation. Loved everything from The owner greeting us at the door through the lovely food and more than welcoming room... superb thank you.....

Bedroom carpet was disgusting and covered in stains, walls damp. The staff are extremely rude had to change hotels as it was frankly an abomination. Save the castle do not stay here.

We only visited to collect our friend for her wedding... her room was clean and lovely and the staff were all extremely nice, polite and welcoming. We had to put wedding ribbons on the car and noticed lots of available parking and a lovely hotel front.

I stay here often, and should say that atmosphere in this hotel like at home. Rooms are clean. Owner and staff are always friendly. Restaurant is perfect. Hope, I'll be here again

Excellent experience. I took my friend there for her birthday after reading the reviews. We were a bit puzzled that at the reception nobody was there but then a charming lady appeared at the bottom of the stairs leading to the restaurant. It was very quiet but very agreable. The food was simply excellent ! I ordered mussles as starter and salmon as main course, my friend ordered smoked salmon as starter and lamb as main course, both dish came with vegetable and potatoes "sautés" ...it was simply succulent. The waitress was very freindly and welcoming. I really recommand this place. I am taking one star off only for the decoration that I think was a bit too much to me. 👍👍👍

Me and my boyfriend were welcomed with a very friendly owner, room was very clean and tidy. I broke my shoe and owners helped me to fix it and showed me where I could get a new pair. Overall a lovely hotel with lovely staff, definitely recommend to anyone.
