"A delightfully Great British pub which brings you all the tradition you would expect from a Carvery combined with everything else you wouldn't! The very best friendly service, a beautifully designed environment, fine wines and beer & an extensive menu choice."

Could clearly hear somebody in the kitchen complaining “now I’ve got to be here till…. I have things to do tomorrow”. Visible that this affected the serving staff and food!. Did see a chef come out to look around worried more about the music playing through the speakers on his phone.food very bland. Wouldn’t recommend.

Friendly staff and food was quite tasty, but waited 45 minutes for a salad. The patio is dirty with cigarette butts everywhere, no soap in the toilets or disinfectant in the dispensers.

Called in today for lunch with my son, he had an inset day I had a day off. Lovely warm welcome from the staff. Took our table and was lovely and clean. Order taken then good arrived quickly. All fresh hit and good quality. Fish and chips for me and burger and chips for my son. Had a great time. Food was hot and radt, drinks were cold and served quickly and the staff were so friendly. Amazing service all round. I'll be back soon! Thanks to all the staff for a perfect lunch.

The staff were very nice. The carvery was ok and at 12.98 for two one shouldn't complain. Just found where the carvery is served and eaten there was no atmosphere and it was a bit run down .

Overall, sadly very disappointing. Booked for a birthday. Started off well. Our starters were very good, But then waited an hour for our main, despite place being relatively empty on a Thursday evening. My meal (mixed grill) was luke warm to cold, a scampi and chips was overcooked, and a couple other meals the chips were very undercooked. One egg was practically raw. Our waitress barely spoke, was distant and uninformative. I never normally make a fuss, but this was barely edible, which was a real shame. We were given a discount on some of our meals as a goodwill gesture, but very doubtful we will come back.

Absolutely awful, meat dried up, veg over cooked and to top it all gravy was cold so ended up with a cold dinner. Stuffing balls were dry and hard as golf balls....total inedible, Service was just as bad, tables dirty and sticky.... left and went home and cooked.

The location and building itself are lovely and that concludes anything positive to say.By far the worst sizzling pub I've ever been to in my life. The waitress Kayleigh was unfriendly and colder than the North Pole and the service was non existent. Not sure why there is only 1 waitress and what would appear to be 1 chef but the result was food that took almost an hour to come out, drinks requested and forgotten about.Probably as a result of the absentee barmaid who was hiding in corners on her phone.I'm pretty sure there are children in Africa who walk for less time to get water than we had to wait for our food.

It's been a while since we have been here. Did not like the food this time, as the garlic bread which was a side dish, looked like it was grilled, it was toasted and dry, the vegetable lasagne was not nice at all, also a very small size portion.

Stopped at the primmer inn next door to the George. Popped in for some food, it's a really nice comfortable pub with a nicely set out dinning area. The George is a lovely old building. The food was spot on can't fault it. And the service was good, and the staff member were plight and friendly. Also found it good value for money 🤗
