Food was OK.. nothing to complain or rave about. But the waitor Andrew was hands down the best waitor ive ever had. He was very polite and friendly and interacted loads with our boy who kept trying to make him jump.. it made our lunch very enjoyable especially for my little boy. When I asked my boy why he liked Andrew he said it was because he was very happy. We would definitely come back. Thank you Andrew! Xx

Had an amazing day today at the leather Bottle. we were served by this lovely young Lady Becky. who so polite and just couldn't do enough for you. A very big thank you. And also to the Amazing chefs for the wonderful food it was the best. we will be back for the soul weekend. Elaine Neil xx

Absolute joke. Went for the Father's Day event but not catering food for kids. The only reason we were given was it's a Father's Day event!?! Such disrespectful staff. Food was well over priced for the food on offer. Bar staff were unhelpful. Worst visit we have ever had and also the last visit. Left and went to The Ship Inn. Millon miles better. Go there

Came here today for the Father's event and was disappointed greatly. The food options was just from the BBQ and there was no options for children, not even chips was available to order. What was orderable was basic food, that I expect from a car park burger wagon and greatly over priced. When we asked about food suitable for our children, we had the response" its father's Day event for Father's!". So they expect only dad's to eat and their children to watch them eat food and not have any food themselves. Staff were all in experienced and had poor customer service skills.Sorry I couldn't not respond to your comment.I think you are confusing me with another family that left shortly after arriving and did indeed make a scene as you said. I mearly found out I couldn't order something extra to go with the burgers I ordered for my children, as this was all available, from the bar staff (as you said from the BBQ menu). Nothing was offered to me. I also didn't book a table so didn't see the menu until we arrivedThe Ship inn down the road has a good fresh food menu that is both good value and comes with extras 😉

Friendly beautiful country pub/hotel. We have spent a memorable evening and overnight stay there! Great food and so tasty though would appreciate larger platter portions.The room was so cosy and comfortable. The whole environment was steeped in history, it really is a gem!!! Definitely going back!!!

Saturday night birthday meal for 4 people. Food was nice but portions small. Finished starters & mains had to go to the bar to asked for more drinks at 2130, told no fruit or ice for V & T as they had “chucked” it. Went to bar to ask for & pay bill to find them cashing up 2 hrs prior to closing. Paid £212. Mostly a pleasant evening although one table attendant was rude & very moody which spoilt the experienceOn reading other reviews and the odd managerial response I find the “owner” very rude. Take a look at your staff without your rose coloured glasses. One is not welcoming, has a face like thunder & is very abrupt, some customer service training wouldn’t go amiss

Overpriced food. Two cheese burgers for£35!!! Bun rock hard.Poor bar service. I ordered two coffees,then clarified that they should be flat white. The grumpy barmaid brought 4 coffees out. She knew from the burgers that there was only two of us eating.

Not for someone who wants a lot of food and the veg could have done with a bit more cooking. Bit to much nouveau cuisine for my liking,not what you'd expect from a lovely country pub. Not exactly cheap either. £72 for 3 starters and 3 meals not Inc drinks.

Stayed for a friend's wedding nearby. The room was comfortable and warm; everyone who worked at the pub was really friendly; and the breakfast was excellent. Thanks for a great stay :)

Great pub but lacks atmosphere. Food average, selection of beers decent. Could be so much better.(was a few years ago?)
