Thai Express in Guildford

Waste of money. I ordered veg and rice, rice was swimming in soya sauce, couldnt eat it.Vegetables tasted stale.

I tried this place twice in a week as I had an uber eats deal and so wanted to get a range of items before making a decision. I will say this is distinctly Thai food in that the menu does mainly lend itself to Thai items as opposed to generic Asian/Chinese items.I tried the most popular dishes according to the app and will say the food was decent at first try, with the wings being coated in a rather nice sauce. However, I was a bit disappointed that I had picked the spiciest option and it barely had a hint of such.The second time I brought this up in the order notes as I ordered the noodles and wings only to find that not only was the food not at all spicy, it was really quite bland and the wings were sauceless and dry.I had thought at first what I was missing was a kick in the meal but the repeat order showed me that a lot was lacking in taste and flavour and so whilst I give this 4* for the price I paid it should be noted there was a heavy discount in that calculation for me.

Today (13 March 2022) I tried Thai Express (Guildford) restaurant.I wouldn't say it’s that authentic Thai. I ordered a stir fry ginger chicken with rice, tasteless Chicken with the same size pieces and too much soya sauce on the rice so couldn't eat it.Food is worth the money, The Money gone down the bin.

We ordered a Tom Yum noodle soup and chicken fried rice. The rice was OK.. But Tom Yum soup was no where near being Tom Yum, absolutely plain soup and I even went to the counter to ask whether they got the order correct. They said it was Tom Yum, which clearly didn't taste as one.

Having a Thai wife I know what Thai food is meant to taste like, the food presented here is far from Asia food, the Thai noodle soup was as bland as dish water, no flavor at all, the stir fry look as if they picked it off the floor, abit more flavors but not no way near Thai.As for the cashier a smile to your customers would not go a miss….never again

Today I tried that restaurant, I tried green curry chicken with rice, veggie spring rolls and general thai and I did not like any dish, just the rolls was okay, bland food and few ingredients, too much rice, unfortunately we will not repeat.

Awful place. We ordered a veggie meal which was delivered with meat in it. I am a vegetarian so couldn't eat it. We also ordered veggie spring rolls which had a hair on it. I'm surprised it is allowed to serve food. I am lucky it was not an allergy.

Every time I come to Guildford I go here! The food is always perfect and although I would t say it’s that authentic it still is so tasty! For hot food on the go or for a quick lunch this is the place to go. I recommend going for the chicken fried rice hot. Good selection on the menu to choose from and there is something for everyone who likes Asian eating.

Average thai food. Agree with other comments re there being way too much soya sauce on the rice. Also had the sweet and sour beef - it was ok but the the meat tasted pretty mediocre. Ironically I couldn’t really taste much of the sweet and sour sauce, perhaps because the rice had so much soya sauce on it! Fine for a quick meal, but there is definitely better thai food around in guildford.

Worst food ever. Ordered no5 which is fried rice with prawns. It had so much soya sauce which made the rice over sweet. Looked disgusting tasted even worse. Hardly any vegetables in the rice. Posted the picture with review. That does not look like fried rice. Money gone down the bin. I would give it 0 star or even minus star if possible.
