Very nice setting, right next to a stream, however can be a bit noisy and busy with passing traffic (particularly motorcycles), very limited parking on site for 12 cars!.The food is excellent, with a good, but limited choice, a tad expensive if I'm honest. Good selection of drinks. Nice out side seating area with a small, but a bit run down childs play area. I think this would be a bit expensive for a family for a meal out as our bill for 2 x adults (food only) was just short of £50, that was a starter of soup and a burger and chips main meal. Nice place to stop and have a drink on a sunny day, and the kids can play in the crystal clear, shallow stream.

If it wasn't for the idyllic area and pleasant outdoor space at the back I probably would've given this a 1*. The manager was rude when I asked about GF (only then to serve me something that definitely contained gluten..), premium prices due to 'locally sourced produce' despite there not being much other than the ALDI own brand ketchup to verify the claim, steak burger had fragments of bone in (maybe from a local cow?), the interior dusty and in need of a good lick of paint, chairs were almost falling apart and they were 'running low on cutlery' despite there being only a handful of people eating. Such a shame for somewhere that has so much potential.

Very attentive and helpful staff, the food was warm and well prepared. The decor could do with a little lite refreshing but not significant when you are sat outside in the garden space and hear the gentle trickle of the stream flowing nearby...

I can’t comment on much else but the food was appalling. The steak burger might have been good had it actually tasted like beef and not out of a captain Birdseye packet (or ALDI equivalent). Overall, I really wouldn’t bother.

As always friendly service and lovely Sunday roast!

Chosen for the light bites menu advertised on the website, sadly this is currently unavailable due to Covid, so had to plump for a starter rather than spend £15 on a burger, but the whitebait and tartare sauce was delicious and plenty for a light lunch, (although I did order the cheesy garlic bread on the side to be sure - not something I'd go for again as 3 slices, heavy on the cheese, was a bit much) Lovely bit of Shere Drop to go with though, can't get more local than that! One point to note - ladies loos could do with a proper clean. The porcelain was fine, but the tiles, hand dryer and heating pipes were all very dirty and there were many an old cobweb hanging around.Very polite and friendly service though, perfectly decent food, gorgeous location overlooking the river, would definitely go back.

Very nice place. Tasty food. Book a table before you will visit a pub. A lot of tourists from Surrey Hills

Great for the basics. Food was tasty and service was friendly. Inside decor is a little bit basic/dated but outside is a lovely space.

Cute pub on the river. Nice place site outside have drink. To village Shere is 10-15 walk. The prices are reasonable. Enjoy:-)

Friendly staff, good food at reasonable prices, lovely and large garden with plenty of picnic benches and a stream running through it. Great location in beautiful surroundings and plenty of parking right outside. Outdoor and indoor dining, and good variety on the menu too.
