Really good food for a pub (far better than expected), friendly staff, nice place. Food pricing is about what you'd expect (£12-£20 for a main). Definitely worth a visit if you are passing. The only draw back is its proximity to a main road & The Hogs Back creating a background hum.

Nice place, bigger than it looks. Parking on the other side of a busy road is a small negative. Food and service was excellent.

Everyone in my group was perfectly happy with the food and drinks, nothing we could fault at all. The service we received was extremely helpful and friendly from a lovely lady. No doubt at all that we'll be going back.

It's a decent place to go for a quiet drink with the emphasis on quiet since theres o ky ever one or two people there. There atmosphere for dinner therefore is a bit lackluster but the main reason for the 3 stars instead of 4/5 is the food pricing, it's a jolly farmer... Since when was their food good enough to charge the same price as other decent local restaurants.

I don't normally give feedback good or bad, but in this case my fish and chips were not good, the batter on the fish was soaked in oil as was the weird shaped chips. I did complain to the young waitress but I don't suppose my comments filtered through to the chef, no offer for money off or free desert etc.

On bank Holiday Tuesday, I called in with 20 odd friends. Two of them wanted a beer to take away, as we were on walking the North downs way. They were refused. They asked to buy a drink and drink it there and then. Again, they were refused. We were all in walking gear and boots, but not dirty or rude.We will walk this walk again, but we won't be stopping in Puttenham or this pub. I guess passing trade will always stop there, but don't expect a warm welcome 😢

Poor food, partly offset by pleasant service. The menu reads well and you'd be forgiven for thinking that some tasty pub staples would shortly appear, however, the quality is far from what you would expect.I'm really surprised to read so many glowing reports; so I get if you want to give it a go (we did!), but we are not going back.

Not giving a 5 because everyone on my table was served, and I had to wait an awkward 10minutes before my food arrived. The staff was apologetic, but it would be better to get my food. Anyway, on the food front - my burger was absolutely delicious and the fries were perfectly done. The decor is lovely too, although we sat outside, which is tucked away at the back. Lovely stop over during our hike.

Today we visited The Jolly Farmer for a late Sunday lunch. It was the first time I had visited the pub since it changed from being a Harvester & it won't be the last visit, that's for sure! What a lovely upgrade! The pub has a lovely vibe, very friendly & welcoming. It had cosy corners & a warm atmosphere, but also lots of light & space. I would recommend this pub for anyone looking to have a drink or dine alone, as well as for couples or larger groups. We showed up with no booking as a group of 4 adults, just after peak time for Sunday lunch & got a table, however, like most places offering a good roast, I would recommend booking ahead if you are part of a particularly large group or wish to dine during peak times. The service was fantastic - staff were polite, cheerful & really added to our overall excellent experience. The food was good too, not the biggest menu, but what they did offer they did very well!! Plus the range of roasts was great, it was after all a Sunday visit, so I imagine the menu may be different during the rest of the week. I would recommend checking if you would like to know what that may consist of before your visit. All 4 of us agreed that our whole experience was excellent value for money & we would all definitely go back & would all definitely recommend The Jolly Farmer to others!

We called up and was greeted by an automated phone system which tells you if they have any space available for bookings. It's great if your introverted or have social problem as it's all done by your phone keypad. You can also choose to speak to a staff member if you prefer the old school way.The only problem was the ice creams were incredibly melted were creating overflows of sticky chocolate meaning you couldn't eat it without getting your hands sticky - but I guess you don't have to order it if you want something less messier to eat.
