I received a Virgin Experience Days (3 course meal for 2 with presecco) voucher for my 50th birthday. The meal tonight was absolutely amazing. The service was fantastic. This place was wonderful. I would definitely go back again but also would buy this as a gift for someone.

Very Llansantffraid gastro pub in Guilford with a good menu and quality food. Had a great dinner with the client and colleagues. Strongly recommended.

Lovely pub. Great food. Been a few times and last time, I had smoked pork belly which was very good. Funnily enough I was impressed with the coleslaw. It is a very creative, healthy mix of veggies not your typical cabbage/carrot in a huge dollop of mayo. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Went for a meal the the girlfriend and dog, when we first walked in it was very busy but had a really good atmosphere.I was initially a bit worried about how the dog might have been with all the noise, but were had a table reserved which was tucked away downstairs next to a window with a few other dogs around which was a superb setting!Really nice meal, service was good. Nothing was an issue and would pop back again, but would recommend reserving a table as its looks to be a popular spot!

I went to The March Hare upon my neighbors recommendation. I was certainly not disappointed. The atmosphere is very pleasant and the food I had was delicious. Service was good too. I’ll definitely be back there again .

Great gastro pub with French and British food, packed to the rafters on a Saturday evening, so book in advance. The duck cassoulet and coq au vin were amazing. Don't forget to leave some space for the pistachio souffle

Hit and miss.Food is ok, some things are very good and some things are not great, it just looks fancy. It's overly expensive. I'm still crying for the 9 quid pistachio soufflé with rich chocolate ice cream. It wasn't pistachio!!! It was a green coloured almond soufflé that didn't taste of anything like pistachio (do you think your clients are stupid?) And the chocolate ice cream was just completely normal chocolate ice cream, not rich, not dark, not anything, just the ice cream no one likes. The rest of the food was hit and miss. Salmon and the steak just look so sad and boring, felt sorry for the people who ordered them. Bangers and mash were delicious. On top of all this they charge you for the service without warning you (I suppose you get to see your bill when you're at the restaurant, but not at the pub as you pay directly at the till). I find this outrageous as it's like having a tax over the price on the menu. Just add all the expenses to the prices!! People come here knowing it's an expensive place, so why don't you pay your staff decently?I took a few days to review this place so I could do it with a clearer mind, but writing this has just upset me again at how much I spent for an okay and deceiving meal. I definitely won't go again or recommend this place, although I've had friends go before who did have a good experience. Up to you.

Friendly staff, went out of their way to make sure we are comfortable.Food was delicious and big portions.Yorkshire pudding was slightly burnt and soufflé a little too sweet (but could be me).Right next to castle, def another go to place

We booked for a Sunday shortly after restrictions lifted. It seemed obligatory to have the Sunday roast despite this being a French restaurant! The roast was disappointing to sat the least. We should have been wary when it came from the kitchen almost immediately. I’m a renowned trencherman in my family and I didn’t even eat half of this meal - I’ll tell you why. Firstly, half of the components were cold. Gravy (which tasted bizarre anyway, probably having been mixed with tinned tomatoes) was congealed. Roast potatoes were as hard as bullets with a distinctly dreadful chemical like taste. The meat was dry and cold, probably having been sat on a hot plate for a few hours.Pudding was luckily significantly better - my pistachio soufflé was delightful.Service was good if a little slapdash. I read in other reviews (after we’d been) that this establishment asks people to work a free shift as a work trial. I wonder in retrospect if this was the case with our waiter. In any event, I wouldn’t support any establishment that adopts such unethical practices and had we known, I wouldn’t have booked. We certainly won’t be eating there again.
