The Plucky Pheasant in Guildford

A very good stop for cyclists, hikers and dog walkers around Newlands Corner. Best in sunny weather as outside area offers a lot of choices for booths, covered, and open seating. Sandwich menu is very good and they offer menus for children and dogs.They are very dog friendly and it is very likely that there will be dogs there.

Table service needs addressing. Had a specific table booked but had to go find one as no one greeted us, found our own menus, and constantly had to go up to the counter to ask for table service as they seemed to forget about us. When they did come over, we found them almost grumpy and inattentive. Ended up clearing up our own table. Cakes were amazing though, the food hit and miss (why does a sandwich need to be twice the size of me? At least cut it in half) but the service really let them down. Disappointed and not going back in a hurry.

Absolutely amazing cakes. Can get busy but good staff who deal with the crowds.The cakes (gluten free and vegan options) are the best cake that I've ever had (biscoff and banana particularly).Toilets are clean, everything runs quickly and highly recommended. Only slight annoyance was the car park. It was very busy and we got blocked in.

Excellent service, quality food and a lovely location. A bit pricey, but all in all a nice breakfast pit stop.

Let me keep this simple, this is my experience. Great restaurant - great service always with a smile and sense of humour. Great variety of food served hot and very tasty and on hot plates (oh joy)! Eat inside or in the tent, fabulous views, easy walking on the Downs in the fresh air afterwards - what's not to like! Could be my fave place to go for breakfast and sometimes lunch! I'll be back.... !

The best staff, always really friendly even when it’s very busy on the weekends! Great food (the best bacon sandwich) always really fresh and tasty. Great place for families and dogs. The perfect end to a long walk around newlands corner!

They serve delicious breakfast and desserts with nice landscape views. The staff is very friendly. Highly recommended.

I kid you not, it was the best avocado and salmon on toast I have ever had! My partner loved his full english as well! The staff were kind and so lovely. The views are amazing and we are definitly going there again!
