Nice enough place but we stopped in with some friends we had down at the weekend for a drink on the way back from a walk & were charged 10% service. Don't like it on food at the best of times but on a round of drinks is a bit much. It's a shame as it's in a good position when walking around the Clandons but won't do that again.

Food is excellent. Bit more upmarket than usual pub food, more like a restaurant and prices reflect this. Service was a bit slow hence 4 stars instead of 5 but we enjoyed a leisurely 3 course meal and cannot fault anything else.

Staff - friendly, food - excellent, if you want a large table or take a 4 legged friend you need to book, as dogs can only go in 2 rooms. A really nice pub for the whole family.

We turned up on a Saturday without booking and in spite of the arrival of a large pre-booked party we were treated to fast and very friendly service at lunch. My tuna steak was thoroughly cooked through but that can be forgiven in all the circumstances. Many thanks.

Had a Sunday lunch on 15th May. We were extremely disappointed. We had the three meat roast with pork, beef and chicken. The chicken was nice, but the other two meats were tasteless. The pork crackling was spongey and not at all crispy. The potatoes were hard and undercooked. There was chicken gravy on the dinner but it tasted like liquid fat.so we asked for some beef gravy. This was not much better and it came in an egg cup sized pot and was thin and tasteless (even the next table commented on this). When we told the waitress when we paid the bill, she agreed, but really was not interested. We have great Sunday roasts at home and thought this was a treat, but it definitely was not. They added a 10% service charge with the bill making the bill just over £50, with no drinks and no dessert.

The Queen's head is a very nice place with friendly staff and a good beverage range, the only thing that stops it being a five star review is that the menu is very much the same to most pubs around and at a higher price. There is plenty of parking and in a great location

The one star is because some bright spark thought they'd change the booking system which meant everyone could book in at the same time and 3pm Sunday was it...! We waited 1hr 15 mins for our food!!This is such a shame because we'd been several times before and the food is excellent. No complaints to the chefs or waiting staff, they were excellent.

Nice location with large car park, cozy restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Food was good but prices were a bit higher than you would normally expect for a pub based restaurant such as this. I guess the question is when does it stop being a pub and become a restaurant.

Pre booked the table for a 96th birthday. Menu pretty uninspiring. The chicken burger was soggy and for over £15 came with a few chips and no other accompaniment. You’d get better in a fast food place. Fish and chips was over cooked and dry. Food really gone down hill. Service was acceptable but not overly attentive. Wine glass removed before finishing in a rush. Sadly will not be back. Many other places to have better quality meals. Pre Covid ate here regularly. A disappointing evening with an elderly person on their special day and first meal out!

This used to be my my favourite place to eat locally but it seems to have changed hands recently and has gone down hill. We both had battered cod chips and peas and a soda and lime. The service was friendly but slow. The fish was dry and shrivelled and the chips were lacklustre. Total bill £55 service included. Other friends have also told me that the quality of the food has deteriorated. Won’t be returning sadly.
