This is a nice gastropub in Guilford close to the river and walking paths. It has outdoor seating as well as a lovely garden but it can be a bit noisy due to being next to a busy road. There is a lovely selection of cocktails and beer. Lots of lunch and dinner options as well as calorie information. The food is fresh and tasty but the children's menu was a bit underwhelming. Parking available on site. Helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend especially on a sunny day.

I do not what went wrong but the food was barely eligible. I have eaten at the seahorse before and it was quite good, but last night everything which I had I struggled with. The squid was flavorless and the garnish of bits tomatoes and greens were revolting. Never had tomatoes before that did not taste like tomatoes. The crab, prawn linguine was way to watery and just lack any care in it is preparation and I really struggle to eat it and keep it down. I never had a paste dish so bad.The cheesecake I have never tasted cheesecake that had so little moisture in it.I’m writing this not because of spite but the owners need to ensure the kitchen staff get their passion for cooking again. It was almost like a deliberate act of sabotage. The Pre teen did like his dirty burger through.

I don’t know who is the head chef there but definitely knows how to prepare an exceptional meal. Great quality ingredients. The best Sunday roast ever. Great service too! Highly recommend this place.

We wanted to try somewhere new in the area for Mother's day. Unfortunately the service wasn't great, very long waits to be served, the roasts were all burnt, which included the vegetables and yorkshires, the chicken had an odd taste, possibly freezer burn so couldn't eat it. The Beef itself was nice and the puddings were good but after 2 hours the novelty had worn off and we almost left without having it. The staff were kind after we complained and offered desert and coffee complimentary but those coffees came and they were cold. We might have just had a one off bad experience but won't be going back.

We went here for a 40th birthday. We had a large group and we were given a lovely private section. The food was amazing, hot, came out all together and in a timely fashion. The roast was full of flavour. Staff were attentive, and a pleasure to speak to. Will be coming back again in the future!

Expensive, good looking but small portions and over complicated, pork was overcooked, only 3 scallops for £5 extra. My dish was the sea bas which for the record was actually quite nice but I was still very hungry by the end. Not worth the money.

We haven't been here for a while & had struggled to book a table anywhere else with late notice. We were able to reserve a table at the time we wanted (7pm on a Friday) with no problems. There was a reasonable selection of good dishes & chose a filet steak & sea bass. The food was well prepared, cooked & presented. The quality of the meat & fish was very good & as a result the prices are moderate, but worth it. The staff are friendly & helpful - overall a very nice experience.

There for our staff Xmas dinner. Food was of very good standard. Veg could have been slightly cooked more. Brussels could have taken someone head off. The starters, main and dessert were really nice, good flavours. Pleasant pub restaurant, would happily go back.

First visit a few weeks ago and the food was good, but the steak was average. Place itself is nicely decorated in a typical gastro pub way but seems to be a halfway house between a full dining pub and a boozer. Menu was varied and the service was ok, buts it’s missing something. Maybe it just lacked the ambience at the time we were there, but I wouldn’t rush back.
