The Stoke Pub & Pizzeria in Guildford

A very unassuming place to eat. I have always passed this pub assuming it was local pub that doesn't do anything special in terms of food.I, we could not have been more wrong.After a great session swimming in the Guidlford Lido, a swim buddy n I decided we needed to go for lunch. A fellow swimmer who lives locally recommended this place being a minute or twos drive from the Lido. Well. You have a parking for free as long as you log it on the screen in pub at the bar. The inside as well as outside space was vast. Much bigger than you would think.They have an indoor pizza oven on display where they make fresh on demand pizza.They have a vast menu that accommodates gluten free and more.They work by table numbers to place your orders, so make sure you secure your table and number to go to the bar and order.Very friendly staff and chefs who take pride in prepping their salads and more. How lovely to spend time thinking of how they prep and present even the simple dishes, like a salad.The food was tasty and was more than expected. A good price too. Generous servings. Worth a visit and free parking is a bonus in the just about centre of the lovely town of Guildford.

Great selection of beers, amazing pizzas (with great value deals early in the week!), and fun activities like shuffleboard and darts. The staff are always super-friendly, too!

A little disappointing. Ifind the ale selection not great for one thing. The other disappointment was the somewhat scarse toppings on the pizza. BBQ Pulled pork &Chorizo was tasty but loyally two bits of pulled pork in its entirely. This wasn't a one off thing either.Has potential but currently I'm not impressed

Visited the Stoke many times and had some lovely meals. Today was our first Sunday roast there! Lovely meal, good value for money and really friendly staff! Highly recommend a visit!!

Really lovely pub. Great food and variety of drinks. Very friendly and helpful staff who went the extra mile when some of the items we ordered weren't available

Best pub in Guildford. Shuffleboard, augmented reality darts and pool. A real place to go to for boozy activities. One thing though, if you’re going to spend £5000 on a VR dart board, please make sure you have darts that aren’t broken 👍

Such a gem of a place !!The perfect place for a Sunday roast, with an amazing veggie option and amazing staff.I’ve brought my son here many times after a long play at Stoke park… lots of colouring for children to do and even colouring competitions!! It’s so nice to find a family friendly pub that actually care about the children !! And a great deal on the kids menuWe will be back very very soon.!!

The food was ok when it came but unfortunately we had to wait an age for our food. There were only two other tables eating and their food didn’t come out together either. I had to wait an hour for a plate of chips. There was no explanation or communication as to why we had to wait so long so when we asked the lady (who took the order) she it was because we’d orders starters and were waiting for us to finish. This is after asking, specifically if we wanted it all together (and replying yes) and the starters mentioned were the kids vegetable sticks.Generally is was just poor service and communication.I would have even bothered to write this review if I hadn’t been made to feel like it was my fault by the person serving us, but that’s what happened.

Highly recommend!! The stone baked pizzas were amazing and we played on the shuffle boards which I had never seen before. Great atmosphere.

High chairs are provided yet no baby change facilities? Who had that bright idea? Ordered food the same time as others at my table, whilst they received their food in good time we were told ours would take 30-45 mins. It took over an hour which isn't great when you have hungry toddlers watching others eat at the same table... Fish and chips was burnt when I got it so really quite a poor show.Lads at the bar were great so they earned at least a bit of praise.Might also be an idea not to advertise Fruit Shoot on the menu when it isn't in stock
