Very lovely afternoon tea. 😊 a friend bought me a voucher for afternoon tea. We thoroughly enjoyed our food it was so tasty. Some of the nicest scones I've had. And staff were lovely and really helpful. They changed the sandwiches we didn't like and were attentive . Thank you

My friend took me for a pre birthday afternoon tea. Service friendly, little treats for afternoon tea were delicious. The only negative was the gave us a small jug of milk to share and we both take milk in our tea. The jugs were so small could have done with one each. Amazing venue for taking pictures and wedding reception. Went to a friends wedding reception there a few years ago.

A really nice hotel in the centre of Ripley with lots of character, our vintage room was beautiful. The food was excellent at breakfast and dinner. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would stay again

Brilliant stay at The Talbot. Decent room, nice setting, really tasty food, good value for money and the best bit was the staff who were extremely friendly and genuinely cared about ensuring we had a pleasant stay. Thank you all. We will visit again!

The place, the staff, the food.... absolutely everything was beautiful. Can't thankyou enough .. wish we could have stayed. Will definitely be telling friends and family to visit and I will be back myself. Many thanks to the very polite efficient staff ⭐

Really loved the atmosphere being seated in a 1430s building and the warm welcome from Steffy, the waitress, who chatting with us told us that the building was haunted... She's heard children running and laughing, but nothing ever bad happened. That have me the goosebumps, but only made The historical Talbot pub even more intriguing! As for our meal, it was absolutely to die for. The Nelson fish platter, the hot bread basket with salsa sauce and olive oil, then the prawn and cray fish salad, all made my "fish craving night" a real joy to the palate! All was so fresh, tasty and beautifully served. We will definitely return to the vet special Talbot pub!

Lovely old coaching inn, enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were very helpful, even swapping room for us when I realized I wouldn't be able to handle the low ceiling and beams in the original one. The food was good too, both breakfast and dinner.

We came here for an afternoon tea on the weekend and the service was really very poor.Upon arrival, I was told we were “round there” by both the receptionist and someone into restaurant, without being shown to the table. For the rest of the afternolb, I then had to go up to the bar for everything - from wanting to order drinks, to asking for our food, to requesting tea and then the bill. Apart from delivering the food and drinks, no one came to the table. They served the food and didn’t take any orders for drinks, so we had to again ask for tea and coffee. It really was such a let down.None of the staff were rude but just not attentive or helpful at all - The food was okay. In the end, I had to ask for the service charge to be taken off our bill because the group agreed it wasn’t warranted.A number of us then went elsewhere for drinks because we didn’t want to keep getting up and down. It’s a shame because it looks very pretty!

Stayed for two nights over Christmas on a festive package which was extremely good value for the money. The food was consistently good quality and presentation and all the staff were very friendly. The standard room was clean and perfectly adequate. We will definitely go back.

Attended a wedding here, it was absolutely beautiful. The staff were wonderful all throughout, even providing all 11 of us staying the night before a room to eat takeaway together which was amazing!I stayed in one of the old rooms which was very quaint but comfortable and clean with everything you'd expect from a hotel.Breakfast in the morning was buffet style and the hot food was replenished throughout so there was always plenty.I would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend it as a wedding venue - it looks magical!
