I feel bad giving this rating as it’s not a bad pub, the location is lovely, but the food is wildly over priced and the beer is lacking. I guess it appeals to an older generation, I have decided to give it a 4 star instead of a 3 as I think they should be given a chance to act on feedback. I had a beef salad and for £22 I was expecting more, the salad was nice but not wow and I was given 4 slices of beef with my salad, slightly underwhelming. The beers like I said aren’t my cup of tea, very old man ales. Something more refreshing would be very welcome. We love going here and believe it’s not a bad pub but has room for improvement.

An institution, service so personal you wonder how they do it. Amazing atmosphere, good menus in restaurant and bar, love the wine list. Also think they should bring back the waistcoats.

Superb. Older world's original decor and ambiance. Great food and large portions. Loved it all thanks to all staff.

Was taken out for lunch for a special treat. Would recommend the food was excellent with good service. A little bit pricey but worth a visit.

One of the UK's very best pubs which also boasts a superb restaurant. Have been falling out of this excellent establishment for over 40 years. Highly recommended.

Friendly staff, however menu was massively overpriced. Paying £17.50 for the grilled salmon for it to come out with no sauces, veg or sides and then having to pay £3.50 for a side plate of each vegetable which were soggy was taking the mick.

Lovely traditional pub near friends on the outskirts of Guildford. Lovely food and great service. Remember to book for a weekend visit as it gets booked up quickly. We will be visiting again. £19.50 for a Sunday roast, and they do children roast at £14.00.

Wow!!! What can I say? Owner and staff extremely polite and friendly, as well as knowledgeable and the food was fantastic. Menu was from yesteryear with prawn cocktail and steak Wellington the highlights for me on the menu as well as a wonderful wine list. The restaurant an old 16th century travellers Inn was enchanting. Fabulous night.

Visited the Withies Inn while on a trip to the UK on business. I loved the place. We don't have many places like this in the US. We had a great meal (I loved the Bangers and Mash) and were treated very well by the staff. The architecture was outstanding and the location, great.Had a few pints to top off the evening.

I first started coming here over 50 years ago and this visit was just as enjoyable. A classic menu, traditional service, delicious food, very generous portions and great value, all in a 16th century inn. A superb evening.
