Lovely to be back again after 2 years, great food and drink plus efficient service. We shall return very soon. Get there early as it fills up by 13.00.

Nice atmosphere, however the advertised menu wasn’t available. We were after a small lunch and their website shows a light lunch for including Sundays. The actual Sunday menu was a Sunday roast menu. It was quite expensive but worst of all it was completely bland. My chicken tasted like it was boiled in water and the roasties and carrots were bland. The gravy was super watery. Overall very disappointed.

Loved it. Haven't been there for a few years, very nice make off. Food lovely too. Fantastic Sunday Roast

It's a lovely location, in the woods near the picturesque village of Shere. When the weather is nice, you can walk from Shere along a path through the fields, and see the horses. The smallish bar is my favourite part of the pub - it has a big fire and good beer. It feels like a country pub. The restaurant part has a different vibe, with its slightly bland modern hotel type decor (I took a star off for this). We had the pizza which is cooked in a wood-fired oven - you have to go outside to order it from the Italian Chef. They bring it in a cardboard box like a takeaway. We, and others, asked for plates. The service was good. I would say they went out of their way to be helpful.

The staff is so nice, genuine and friendly. Went for late lunch so its pizza menu, good food and nice cozy vibe. Easy parking behind the place.

The waitress was at pains to show us we were a nuisance. The food, at £16 for a pie and mash, could be bettered by Greggs easily. And we were both beset with digestive difficulties later that night. The only good thing is the fireplace.

My partner and I dinned here for lunch today and the food and service were good as usual. However we had a very unpleasant experience at the end of our meal. When we asked for a doggy bag we were told that they ‘don’t do that anymore’. When I insisted, the waitress told me firmly that it was impossible as it was ‘illegal’. I questioned this but she assured me it was the case. This was entirely disingenuous as I’ve since checked and found that no such law exists. No restaurant should ever refuse any patron a doggy bag as a matter of principle. Amongst other reasons, to do so only adds to the already copious amounts of food waste in western nations. To blame the law for this only adds insult. I would encourage your establishment to be a little more thoughtful and reverse this backward policy.

Going for Sunday lunch on 21st November. Been for a quick drink before noon. Lovely pub from what I can tell on our quick visit. Tell you more when I'm there this Sunday 😊

Overall the pub is nice ,my drink wasn't really a mojito though,at least it didn't taste like one.it tasted like a mojito without alcohol but I've only been there once. Its a good location and looks like a decent pub so it gets a 4 from me

What a lovely country pub. Tbh, we had been waking for about 3 hours so anywhere would have been lovely, this place was simply delightful. Huge fire, excellent outdoor seating and a great drinks offering. Pity they do not serve lunch (hence the 4 stars, not 5). But the staff were very out l pleasant and I will definitely return.
