Meade Hall - What a great venue for Sunday Lunch. The carvery roast was absolutely delicious and beautifully cooked. The staff were attentive and welcoming even though it was extremely busy. The chef behind the carvery was welcoming too. They even looked after my well behaved little dog who got a plate of biscuits and her own bowl of water. Couldn’t fault anything at all. The best! Thank you.

We had a fantastic Birthday lunch, there was something for everyone, vegans, vegetarian, gluten free, kids, adults - all of us had an excellent meal. Alicia our waitress was fantastic. Highly recommended 👌

Amazing food, and service. Even though the restaurant was very busy, we were served quickly. Can't fault. The ribs were the best I've had.

We popped in for lunch today and had lovely food - salmon en croute and ham egg and chips. The staff were lovely and the food was hot and arrived on time. We have booked a table at the carvery in the Meade Hall for my birthday based on our experience today .... but now I am a bit concerned having read several of the reviews written by other people. Are we going to have a good experience like today or a bad one as described by other reviewers? Please reassure me Crown & Cushion!

Brilliant food, good service, nice atmosphere. Went to the Crown and Cushion for a nice dinner. The venue itself is lovely, wide open plan restaurant with little side nooks and beams everywhere. Very atmospheric. Great food. Wood definitely recommend

Unhappy with:1. very poor food served (mashed potatoes is a powder, no testy at all);2. barbecue chicken looks like been frozen and cooked unprofessionally;3. Sauces made without any knowledge what is the ingredients need to be there;4. Full of table plates and cutlery’s which hasn’t been care to picking up time to time;5. waiters do not listen what customers asking, apparently when is paid, they forgot money in the table, was looking them to give it back after. Card machine look faulty, they tried 3 different devices to pay part of payment on card. When i did ask to have copy of a void receipts- they ignore it.Well, this is my last visit to this place. Better to spend £10 on petrol station to get a sandwich if hungry.Cannot recommend

Very very disappointed with our visit. We've been talking about visiting for a while and we won't return. The dough balls were so dry, we didn't get our drinks until way after our starters were done and taken away.We got the veggie Wellington, it was half cooked as you can see in the photo. It clearly hadn't been cooked enough to crisp. It had a horrible chemical taste and was not edible. We then got the veggie stack burger which is halloumi based and the halloumi looked like it hasn't even touched the grill and when I asked for it to be re cooked I got told that it was meant to be soggy and argued with me with the fact I wanted it slightly more cooked. The bun also tasted either stale or frozen. The chips tasted like absolutely nothing. It was extremely poor and no one asked us how it was either. It is either a bad night or I'm not sure but even the table next to us had plenty to say also.We will not be returning and was an absolute waste of money for us.1 good note - the cocktails were tasty.

Fantastic food, especially for vegans. Would recommend to everyone. Only downside is the lack of vegan drinks on tap (one beer, no ales). The only other choice given by the waitress (bottle) was gluten free. I prefer leaving them for people in need.
