My boyfriend and I went here on a voucher deal, which meant that we had to choose from a reduced-item menu. This wouldn't normally be a problem, but unfortunately, my only vegetarian option was Gnocchi with tomato sauce. Unbelievable. Other than opening a can of beans I can't think of anything that's easier to prepare and less boring. I actually found it insulting to be served something as bland and uninspired as that. It's like being shown the door via culinary means. My boyfriend ordered fish and chips. The fish was very oily with a hard, stale batter and the chips portion was so tiny it would fit into the palm of your hand. He loudly wished we had gone to our local fish and chip shop, as the food would've been much better, at a fraction of the cost and I couldn't agree more. When I asked our very nice and attentive waiter if the service charge went to the members of staff he nervously looked around and then quietly informed us that the service charge was kept by the restaurant. For me, this just confirmed what kind of ignorant, arrogant, pretentiously overpriced establishment this is. They should hang their heads in shame. I shall never visit another Marco Pierre White restaurant again, ever.

I was slightly disappointed with the restaurant, especially with the "Marco Pierre White" namesake. Food was not particularly special (I had the salmon fillet and my husband had the honey roast pork belly), and the decor appeared as though it was not maintained to the highest standard. The service was very good, but the general atmosphere of the restaurant was that it was one of a "former glory".
