Gorgeous little pub in a rural area it would be perfect for walkers and somewhere to go for lunch due to it being so close to Lotheron Hall. It's a clean well kept pub with very friendly and kind staff and they made us feel very welcome. The menu has a nice selection and it has the option to have smaller portions of the food for a deal of the main 9.99, 2 dishes for 14.99 and 3 dishes for 19.99 which was perfect for us due to being a big party. We all had 2 dishes and the food tasted amazing the portions were perfect size and it was all handmade and beautifully cooked, will definitely be going there again

Lovely Sunday roast, beef and pork was really wonderful, tasty gravy and the sticky toffee pudding was scrumptious. 😋 The owner and staff are allways nice and try to accommodate you whenever possible, will definitely be back.

Great pub - staff very helpful - food is good with the added bonus of Yorkshire pudding to a high standard. If you are into walking then the website posts a couple of local walks for before or after your meal.

Due to me working away I eat in restaurants multiple times a week for the last 12 years. Also being a proud yorkshireman I take great pride in making my own Yorkshire Puddings. I ordered the Yorkshire pudding challenge, BEST YORKSHIRES I HAVE EVER TASTED and the Gravy was fantastic too and this has been my favourite Meal out since 2019. I would definitely recommend eating hear and I will return.

Dropped in for food on the off chance last Saturday without a booking and even though the place was filled to capacity, the girls found us a table inside 10 minutes of arrival.Service was excellent and staff were very attentive despite being so busy.We opted for a beef lasagna and one of the famous giant filled Yorkshire puds for mains and the selection of deep fried cheeses to share as a starter, all of which were really tasty, very filling and delivered quickly.Sadly, I forgot to take any pics (too hungry!) but suffice it to say, you will not be disappointed if you visit. This pub has a long standing good reputation for a reason 👍

A lovely homely feel, great choice of meals, for the young and old. A super outdoor area, dog friendly a bonus. The meals and drinks reasonable prices. Good quality food the fish was delicious. The two grandsons ate the lot, no mean feat. Attentive, friendly staff. No dramas even when a half full glass of cordial was spilt.

The young female who served us put up with me with a smile. Food was okay and reasonably priced. Would go again if in the area. Pictures of their Yorkshire Pud Challenge courses. Picture and a badge if you finish it.

Amazing Sunday Dinner at the Crooked Billet (Towton) today - very warm welcome and accommodated to fit us in as a walk in on what was evidently a busy Sunday for them… service was polite, friendly, quick and efficient.I’m often let down by dining experiences when the small things are overlooked, but from food to atmosphere everything was absolutely spot on.10/10 dining experience - 💯 % recommend

Delicious Home-cooked food. Lovely old pub with great staff. Really great atmosphere. We stayed for most of the afternoon & 3 of our group managed the 3-course Yorkshire Pudding challenge! Not for the faint-hearted! Fabulous afternoon set in beautiful countryside. If you fancy a proper pub & excellent food this is perfect!!! Xxx

Absolutely wonderful place. The staff were so lovely and friendly and the food was amazing (very reasonable too)My family and I camped for the night on Saturday and straight away we we're welcomed by a lovely young lady, who was so helpful. The land lady was incredibly thoughtful and smiley.I've been and eaten out a couple of times this year, but the food did not compare to what we we're served here, Absolutely delicious! We will definitely return in the not too distant future.
