Received a lovely welcome upon arrival and seated to a table even without a booking. Good menu choice with great offers. I ordered from the set menu for 2 courses. The waiting staff were friendly yet professional, gave us perfect timing between meals and checked in just enough to ensure we were happy yet gave us our space and privacy too. Food was good and the Phoenix had a lovely atmosphere. Would certainly recommend a visit and check out the special menus and events they have.

My chicken roast dinner today, was without a doubt, one of the worst roast dinners I’ve ever had. The only taste was from the herbs scattered over the terrible roast potatoes. They tasted as though they were left over from last week, frozen and re cooked. It was like eating thick cardboard. Disgusting! The gravy was like dish water and absolutely tasteless and the chicken, whilst moist, had slimy skin on top that had not been crisped.Plenty of veggies but again, tasteless.I also requested no bread sauce but it was on the plate anyway. The only positive to this awful meal, was the service. The bar staff and waitresses were great. Shame about the chef!A complete waste of £28 and an hour of my life.

Four of us enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast here. The choice of Lamb, Chicken or Pork with ratatouille, cauliflower cheese, peas and the most wonderful crispy baked potato's was great. Plenty of helpful, friendly staff, great location.

Lovely! Very difficult to fault. We arrived towards the end of service. Despite this the staff were terrific- very flexible and accommodating. Great service with a smile. The food was delicious and really good value. We had just cremated a beloved pet and this was just what we needed. Thank you all at The Phoenix!

Stopped in to wet our whistles on a 5 mile walk round edge of Hartley Wintney. Dog friendly, choice of 4 real ales and free drinking water on the bar. We sat outside in their lovely garden & were surprised to see the igloos but these would be great for cooler/wet days. We didn't eat but the menu looked interesting & we will definitely be back to try it out.

Never been before , was so excited to go and looking forward to the fillet steak until , a whole glass of red wine was spilled across me to the point I was completely soaked in it.I fully understand we all make mistakes however it was not best handled in the way it should of been, I was so embarrassed and disappointed in the after math of what they could do to rectify the mistake , the fact I didn’t have the steak I ordered or a new portion of chips the fact it went across the whole table and the guest was waiting for my steak to be cooked that I didn’t order , in the meantime everyone’s meals were cold and had to be all re plated.Such a shame .

The place was clean and tidy. The food was nicely cooked and prepared. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was a lot more busy than I was expecting, but the tables were well spaced out, and it didn't feel crowded. Would recommend eating here.

Extreme disappointment here and bordering on pathetic. We just moved here, and this was recommended by someone who used to live locally but moved away several years ago.Booked for a meal with 4 adults and 2 kids. Online reservation says 6.30pm and must leave by 8.30pm. This is fine and reasonable to request provided the everything is served on time. Note that on the menu, it says food prepared freshly so to expect a wait. Sounds good….but how long to wait?We arrived on time and had placed our orders for food and drink. After about 20 minutes, my wife was told the soup she ordered was unavailable. She changed her order. 15 minutes later I was told my starter was unavailable too. Bear in mind this was around 7pm, so not exactly late into the evening service for food to run out. We left at 7.30pm, and cancelled the food after giving them a chance to bring out food already prepared. After 10 minutes, still nothing, so paid for the drinks and left. Despite our clear disappointment, no apologies were made for the mess, instead they just stared at us as we left. All seemed very incompetent as it must have been at least 30 minutes from ordering till being told food not available. Badly managed, incompetent waiters, staff shortage, whatever it is that is the underlying cause has led to a spoiled evening. On top of all of this. The restaurant is hostile towards families - no high chairs at all, no kids menu, only a select few items with a mini portion available.Really bad experience and very disappointed as only live down the road and this could have been our local.

A very nice country style pub with a gorgeous open fire and plenty of seating. A pint of lager is fiver but some of the other unusual beers on tap are around the six quid mark. Overall, I really enjoyed my brief visit and will go again

It's been 5 years since my last visit and unlike last time I really enjoyed the food and service.I would highly recommend the Monday Club menu. Strikingly good value; choice of starter, main and glass of house wine for about£13All our party opted for the wonderful mussels with chilli and lemongrass for starter. My dad thought it was so tasty that after he finished the mussels he poured the sauce into a glass and drank it!Some had pork loin in cider sauce for main and the others had burger with chips.Lovely old building adds to the ambiance. Really warm welcoming service from the young ladies at front of house helped make it a memorable and good value lunch.
