Deep Blue in Hastings

I my self fried fish and chips for over 30 years ... i never tasted horrible and disgusting fish and chips like this one from deep blue in battle road

Ordered and paid for 2 fish and chips (on a quiet night) 30 minutes before I wanted to collect. Got to shop and my order wasn't ready. When I got home, found the batter on one fish inedible. It had not been cooked long enough.

Used to regularly order our food from here but unfortunately it's gone downhill over last year or so...fishcakes used to be sold separately and were affordable but now you Have to buy an expensive pair of them...cod used to be large and covered in crispy batter but lately it's shrunk, covered in soft batter and sometimes dry & tasteless and the majority of the chips seem to always be small, hard and sharp! I gave 2 stars though because the staff are always friendly!

Really dissapointed with our food the chips were as dry as the sahara dessert pie was warm on the outside and like a bitter ex cold on the inside the savaloy was like it had been pulled from the sea and the sausage in batter well I couldn't find the sausage nothing but batter.

Great food some of the best chips I've ever eaten. Only downside is that it's a little expensive but you get what you pay for!

Had fish and chips last night. Service was amazing and the food was sensational. I could tell that fresh oil had been used. Well done guys.

Great food but one problem, there is a one member of staff who has always got an attitude I think she’s Greek older lady. She’s always rude to customers an members of staff.

When ever I have ordered online, or have gone personally, there's been very good, and friendly service, I have never had a bad meal, rock salmon is my favourite, but my friends have had cod, and had very sizeable portions, and they are not stingy with the chips

Just popped in randomly and was really happy we did ! Top quality fish, it was already cooked, not dried out like some, and the chips were perfect ! The batter tasted really good, so we will both be coming back and telling our friends ! Nice touch was the recycled paper and cardboard, no polystyrene or plastic. Minor point of not being asked if we wanted vinegar and salt, think they realised that when we went back in, and were very apologetic. Fabulous customer service, great food at a slightly more than you might pay elsewhere, but for this quality, it's definitely worth it.

Went to this chip shop on the way home. For £2 i was expecting a huge portion, but received a tiny little bag full of over salted, over vinegared, over cooked chips. On the 5th chip i was done with it about half the tiny bag tasted horrible. Wont ever go there agian . To all those who want good food i recommend you go to the catch on bexhill road, best chips best service best prices.
