Visited for the first time on mother's day for lunch. Such a vibrant menu and lovely decor. Would love to visit again!

Came to visit a friend that lives in Hastings. Decided to try Farmyard, despite having visited their other restaurant in July 2020 in Hastings where the service was poor. Liked the concept and the look of the menu at Farmyard so was prepared to risk it. We came for Saturday lunch. Very quiet. Other than us, there were two other tables the whole time we were there. Two floor staff which was sufficient.Interesting enticing menu. Great wine list. There are tapas style plates and mains which meant some of us wanted oysters for starters, tapas for mains and mains. It made for more complicated order however not that complicated. We told the server how we wanted the dishes to come thru but that was lost. I got my oysters, my friend didn't get hers, she then got2 of her tapas plates and had to wait for her other plates and I had to ask them where her oysters were. This would of been when our mains would needed to arrive yet I had to ask about our mains and only then did they give the order for kitchen to start on the mains...which meant more time to wait as my beef had to rest....my boyfriend had to wait over 75minutes for some food. What got me truly annoyed was we turned round to find the server on her phone....our glasses were empty..she hadn't come to offer us more drinks...at this point I lost my temper. The server's attitude was complacent...our server was then replaced with the other. Exactly the same attitude as their other restaurant in Hastings which has now closed down. It's a great pity that whomever owns this business fails badly on the service side of things. The concepts and food are great. Service is an essential part of the restaurant experience. I really hope they finally get that part of the business sorted or they may not last.

We eat at the farm yard as much for the ambiance as the food. That being said the food is exceptional. I feel the wine is hot and miss but that's just a personal note and I should take more time before choosing. Overall its got an intimate vibe so if your out on a date I'd highly recommend and most dishes are aimed at sharing.

Food was delicious. Service was great. The wine was good too - slightly limited on the wine available in comparison to the menu choice. I would definitely return. Best veggie roast I have had in a while!!! YUM

We celebrate NYE here and it was a gorgeous evening. The food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was really comfortable and fun. We loved the setting surrounded by ALL the wine. And getting a glimpse into the hustle and bustle of the kitchen always adds to the experience of eating out. Can't wait to return and try more of your wonderful food. Thanks for a lovely evening!

Sadly, I rarely write reviews. But my evening at Farmyard had such a big impact on me, I thought I should share how much I loved having dinner here. The restaurant feels casual and cosy but still refined. My husband and I intended on having a small dinner and sharing a bottle of wine, but the food was so incredible we just kept ordering.Although the food felt seasonally British and clearly they use a lot of local produce it had a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern influence and tasted just delicious. The service was also wonderful; relaxed, attentive and warm.Bravo! We will be back x

This place made me consider moving to St. Leonards-on-sea!Rustic, cozy, brick wall, wood, local ingredients, natural wine, good food! What a great experience! From the cloth napkins to the great wine selection and food menu designed to share on the table!Ticked all the boxes! Absolutely fantastic!Looking forward to return to have another meal here!

Home dining; on time and delicious. 12 individual dishes. Many dishes were warm; some we popped into low temp oven. So varied each cooked beautifully.Book the restaurant for 17th May...and onwards through the year. It really is a star and deserves to full 5 star award. CH
