Visited for coffee and cake, but as none of the cakes tempted me, I ordered an egg mayo sandwich. Coffee was good and sandwich was tasty, but very difficult to eat as the bread was thin and the filling was runny. In itself this wouldn't put me off returning, but I was shocked by the bill. The addition of a surcharge of more than 10% took the cost beyond what it was worth and as it isn't mentioned on the menu it felt like a big con. Reading your responses to other negative reviews I doubt you'll be bothered that I won't be stopping by again, but potential customers might appreciate the heads up.

Had a delicious lunch - interesting and fresh salads, amazing fresh garlic bread. So good we came back for breakfast the next day!Friendly staff and clean and lovely surroundings.

We came here twice: once for some afternoon snacks and once for breakfast. The pizzas were really flavourful. Everything at breakfast was great: toast was perfectly crispy, cakes were moist and delicious, and coffees were great! Would definitely come again.

Breakfast was tasty, their bread very good and butter with it was really quite yummy. The eggs were a bit overdone (both poach andd fried), which knocks a star for me. Slightly on the pricey side of things (nearly ÂŁ30 for breakfast for 2 is a touch steep) but food was definitely well prepared and good quality.

Last Thursday evening we booked a table to have a meal at Java and Jazz. (My first time to eat there) When we arrived it was fairly quiet with just a family with a couple of kids finishing their meal. We waited about 25 minutes to place our order and eventually got up and went to the front where coffee is served and asked for someone to come take our order. They said they’d be with us in two minutes. After 5 minutes more minutes we were still waiting to just place an order so we decided to leave. As we were leaving we were told that they were only doing the very basics in the kitchen because of a shortage of staff. Sadly not the service we had expected.

Food was really good. Service left a lot to be desired even by English standards (which when you travel abroad, you realise how low our standards are.) I'm not expecting silver service, but just for example, our cutlery was just chucked on a dirty (outside) table, not evennon a serviette. The waiting staff either looked scruffy and like they were walking their dog or going on a night out rather than professionals working with food...Also not a criticism, but a request, please label your cakes etc for allergens.I gave 3 stars because the food was really tasty.

Incredible coffee shop and resturant!Have been a few times, the staff and owner are extremely friendly and welcoming. Picked up a couple of oat coffees yesterday and the service was brilliant. Will be my first stop in Forest Row every time I come in the future!

I had an amazing lunch here the other day, the vegetarian lasagna was amazing! The staff was really kind, and the place has a welcoming feeling to it. The service was great. I will definitely come here again.

Absolutely incredible experience! We visited for my partner's birthday and I thought I would be cheeky and ask to bring in a cake. This was no bother for the team who really went the extra to light candles, decorate the cake, jazz up the deserts and really make the birthday feel special.Additionally, the food was beautiful, the staff were attentive and fun and we never once felt like we went without. My first visit in 10+ years and I can't believe I've been missing out all this time. Thanks all!
