We always go here while at Hastings. Food tastes great and staff friendly. Would be nice to see more veggie options, maybe battered halloumi or quorn sausage?

Been coming here for over 10 years. Is always the chip shop I use when in Hastings and normally never any complaints. Unfortunately this weekend it was spoilt when just after finishing my meal I looked up and just as I did the man behind the counter coughed quite openly all over the counter. The girls who were serving both had masks on and were covering their mouths if they coughed but this guy thought it was fine just to cough. He saw me looking at him and knew straight away it was wrong. I would have said something but was with my daughter and couldn't be bothered with the hassle. Why would you do this normally, let alone just after the whole Covid situation. Has put me right off ever going back there again.

3 of us had different take-aways and all were impressed. The small cod and small chips was very generous and I have a big appetite! excellent chips and crisp batter. What really impressed was that my meal was ready first and when the guy realised there would be just a few minutes before the others were ready he offered to take mine and keep it hot while we waited. Such thoughtfulness was much appreciated!

Glad to see & taste that The Old Town Fish Bar hasn't changed!! 👏 I love this place!! We had it 3 times last time we were in Hastings.. My Mum loves it too 👍 Fish was delicious, batter so crispy, chips & peas perfect bite & both pickled onion, gerkin were crunchy & not too much vinegar 💓

Heard great things about this place. Upon entering (the takeaway section) they were also very busy. I ordered 2 large cod, 1 large chips and a savaloy. The friendly staff served it up into a bag and I went home. Upon opening my greasy bag there was a minuscule portion of chips and a tiny cod. I was very disappointed. The only good thing was the savaloy. Decided to give a second chance and a few days later went again, but it was the same thing. Portions are small.
