I stayed in South America last weekend and the room was simply spectacular. Large bed, amazing standalone bath and a lovely seating area with a cracking view looking over the sea.The owner, Max, is incredibly helpful and welcoming and personally showed us up to our room and booked a local restaurant for us.We were offered a champagne breakfast with all the trimming which was brought to our room so we could enjoy it overlooking the sea.We will definitely be back.

So many words come to mind when I think back to our stay at the Zanzibar Hotel - stunning, luxury, beautiful, elegant, hidden gem, sexy, calming, dreamy, warm sea breeze with the sounds of the waves rolling onto the shore.A few of the delights waiting for us on our arrival were fluffy white bathrobes and slippers, an arrangement of luxury body products to try.Huge comfy bed with soft fluffy duvet and crips white sheets. Bottle of fizz chilling on ice along with some juicy summer berries & sweet treats waiting to be eaten. Mood lighting and the sweet smell of rose petals that had been what sprinkled around the room. The hotel is full of interesting pieces of art and a large variety of books and DVD that you may use whilst staying at this gorgeous hotel.Downstairs there's an inviting comfy bar & eating area with a hidden sunny Zen garden out back.We stayed in the South America suite and fell in love with this beautiful and tranquil room with stunning sea view and a bath made for two.We decided to order takeout and watch the world go by from our comfy two setter sofa whilst sharing a bottle or two of fizz. After waking up fresh and ready for some sea air we took a stroll along the sea front and on our return we enjoyed a steaming rain forest shower. This was followed by yummy breakfast in our room with a cheeky glass of buck fizz to send us on our way.We were both very sad to leave and say goodbye to this gorgeous hotel with a friendly and attentive team that where always on hand to help with a smile, even when I phoned them late at night to ask were the hidden light switch was located. My last few words on leaving the Zanzibar were "I cant wait to come back"

What a fantastic stay at the Zanzibar hotel! So very relaxing, we felt very spoilt. The rooms were beautiful with a big stand alone bath and such an amazing view over the sea! They offer the breakfast in the room which is another real treat! I had eggs Benedict in bed with a glass of champagne, my partner a full English. Both came still hot which can be rare for bed in breakfast and the food was fantastic quality! It was very quiet and the owner is so accommodating.Couldn't recommend highly enough!Great restaurants in the surrounding area but we walked (about 20 mins along the seafront) to the beautiful Hastings old town - not too be missed! We went to the crown pub for supper which was also great - worth booking somewhere for dinner if it's Saturday as the old town does get busy.

Fabulous boutique hotel. Room was out of this world with beautiful sea view. Max the Manager/owner was very welcoming and flexible when we had to change travel dates due to unforeseen circumstances. He also took time to explain what was on offer locally and recommended a fabulous restaurant which was everything he said it would be. Breakfast was superb (compliments to the chef) served exactly at the time requested in our room. Can’t fault the Zanzibar Hotel. Thanks for a memorable stay. Will be back for sure.

My mum, sister and I just visited on the hottest day of the year so far, aptly staying in "Africa". We had a fab time. Our room had spectacular views of the sea and promenade. Max and his team were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble for them. The Aperol spritz, wine and breakfast were delicious. All enjoyed in the tasteful decor of the hotel bar/dining room and peaceful, shaded courtyard. Highly recommend a visit.

The Zanzibar Hotel in Hastings is a real treasure on the south coast. We were blown away by the level of detail and investment put into each room. They are all super spacious as it's an old townhouse and each room has special touches including the largest baths I've ever experienced (I'm 6ft5) as well as large comfortable beds. The staff were lovely and the level of personal touch was really appreciated. Beautiful a la carter breakfasts delivered to your room and great local recommendations of places to eat and even a good delivery service if you don't feel like going out. We loved every minute.

We stayed here for a week and it was simply perfect. We decided to arrive a day early and Nicole was so accommodating and helpful. The sea view from Africa was outstanding and made each morning very special. The daily updates on what is going on in the area were very useful and each morning the breakfast was exceptional. In summary, this hotel is outstanding and the people that run it made our stay one to remember. Thank you, Graham & Tricia.

The Zanzibar hotel was amazing and really lived up to the expectations. We stayed in the South America room which was beautiful, with a bath, double shower, large comfortable bed and amazing views. When we arrived at the hotel the lady at reception took our luggage and gave us the car park key which was a 2 minute walk up the road, I will say the parking is quite tight so if you have a big car you will need to be careful. Breakfast was perfect, couldn't of asked for more. It is about a 15 minute walk into town where there is a large section of bars and restaurants.I will hopefully be returning in the future!

Beautiful hotel. Well located right on the sea front with great views. Stunning interiors/rooms. Staff couldn't do enough for us, so helpful. Welcome drink in the cute little bar area was included, everyone was so friendly, and the breakfast (served in the fabulous room) was so tasty. Can't wait to stay again!

This such a lovely boutique hotel. Well-maintained, spotlessly clean rooms. Amazing views. We loved it here. Nothing was too much trouble. Nicole was really warm and friendly when I arrived. She answered all my questions about where to go to eat in the evening. The room (Bali) was small but had everything we needed. Really comfortable bed and a big shower. There were some homemade biscuits in the room and the breakfast was yummy! We sat and ate it looking out to sea from the dining room. My boyfriend and I asked for a late check out cos we didn't want to leave! Zanzibar has other rooms to try too and we're already looking forward to coming back.
