Smiffy's Chippy in Hastings

Curry sauce like water gonna need a spoon, chips were fairly nice but the spring roll and curry roll were absolutely Vile like baby food wrapped in pastry and felt rushed to get out of the shop making us feel a bit uncomfortable like we might as well have been told hurry up although we were spending a fair bit of money in there.

Great place with nice chips, wasn't allowed in but we sat outside, quite understandable with covid etc... 5 stars

Chips tasted stale, kids didn't touch it. "Portion" of cod was the size of a chicken Goujon, not a proper piece of cod, taste is vile. Everything about this takeaway is utterly vile. I'm absolutely appalled.

Just had some fish n chips and they were lovely and hot. Why 4 stars? Paid £7.50 which didn't feature as a price anywhere on the price board? Better transparency = happier customer.

Excellent fish and chips. We really enjoyed our huss (rock) and the batter was very fluffy. All was cooked to order.

I visited Smiffy's recently following a birthday gathering with some friends. The weather was quite bad so we gathered under the canopy outside the shop as our night was coming to an end and were deciding whether to get food there. The shop was almost empty and our presence outside was not blocking the entrance or causing any inconvenience. We had only been there 30 seconds when we were 'greeted' by a female member of staff who asked if we were ordering, we explained we were just deciding. She was very pushy and again asked if we were ordering and if not, then please could we leave and decide elsewhere. We decided it was time to end our night, but we went elsewhere to get food. It was very disappointing, not to mention extremely rude and unnecessary. We have been loyal customers to Smiffy's, and always got on well with the previous owners. They have now lost our custom and any further recommendation.

The best fish and chips I've ever had, ever.Chips cooked perfectly, nice and crispy yet fluffy in the middle, nice fish too and lovely batter. I had the medium cod and it was enough. The owner is super friendly and I seen him let a few people off with the odd 10p to help change situations etc whilst waiting for ours.

Came down from london and fancied some good old fashion fish and chips. Strolled past it while in search for one and went in. Service was amazing, so friendly and welcoming. The food was cooked fresh In front of us and so tasty and fresh. Would highly recommend.

Stopped for a light lunch at Smiffys chippy in Hastings, sat outside in the sun and really enjoyed our food! I had the special off mini fish and chips and my friend had scampi and chips.All was freshly cooked and the chips were light and fluffy...wonderful!

The fish was freshly fried when my friends and I arrived. The portion for cod was quite large for £5.50 each. All of us had to pack half of it home. The owner was very friendly and welcoming.
