Teddy's Beach Diner in Hastings

We thought it was incredibly expensive for mediocre food. The menus were sticky, and when i gently pointed this out to the waittress she explained they probably need wiping and promptly didnt wipe them. Table was also pretty sticky. The staff are lovely and it's a beautiful setting but really it felt like a bit of a rip off.

Three things that make a good restaurant 1.Ambience 2. Food 3. Service.Teddy's manages to achieve all three! The 180 degrees panoramic sea view is stunning. The inked Liverpuddlian waiter was funny and the pony tailed waitress also made our meal very enjoyable, great staff. We had a couple of burgers which were of fantastic quality and among the best we've had. Thanks Teddy's, we'll be back when we're in the area again.

Friday 13th, lucky for us? Visiting St Leonards and looked into two other places. Location fantastic. But though this place looked young for us, it was fun. The food was good. The staff were friendly, in more than just a "sales" mode. They wanted to enjoy their work and that meant us enjoying our time out. Will be back.

Loved it had the mussels which we're absolutely banging! Massive bowl and nice thick doorstop bread! Absolutely amazing seafront location and great friendly staff! I'd recommend booking as it unsurprisingly gets busy!

A family of 5 of us came for an early Mother's Day celebration on Saturday. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The vegetarian amongst us was well catered for as well. We had fish and chips, Cajun chicken salad and Veggie Burger. The food was piping hot (a particular bug bear of mine). Babs, our waitress couldn't do enough for us, a lovely lady. How lucky we are that we live in Hastings so we can easily come back when we want!

My husband and I had an amazing lunch and Guinness here served by a really nice waiter - wish all were this professional, efficient and nice!! We walked to Hastings, spent some time there and came back. We went inside and asked if we could use their facilities as we were about to go to back to London. To our shock, we were told no. That it didn't matter if we had had lunch there... That it was their policy that only customers using the premises at the time could use the facilities. It was 7pm and pitch dark, so the outside toilets were no longer open.. We resigned ourselves to stop at a petrol station on the way back to London. I am not sure what is happening with the younger generation but we were met with a completely inflexible and stony refusal to help. Very sad and totally unnecessary. It certainly does not motivated me to come back...

Great location right above the beach, we had coffees outside in the sunshine, then inside for excellent lunch. Spacious in and out, interesting menu, tasty food, and friendly service, a perfect combination! Which is why we keep on coming back for more with friends and family!

Visited Teddy's because of the good reviews. We almost did not go in because it looked a bit run down, however,we were so glad we did when we got the food. It was excellent and we had good service from Babs. Highly recomend the fish and chips which were outstanding. Well worth the visit.

Just look at that view!! What an astounding little find, stumbled upon Teddy's when biking along the Hastings coastline, perfectly situated to place you in the sunshine all afternoon! The quality of the seafood was second to none, drinks were kept clean and cool and they were more than happy to cater to our every wish! Brilliant team, brilliant food, brilliant experience. Cannot fault, simply 5 stars!! :)
