Fresh from the fryer, lovely crisp thin batter and fresh cod, friendly service. Slightly on the oily side but to be expected with battered fried fish. Delicious. Will definitely go there again.

Lovely friendly staff but a little disappointed. My cappuccino was clearly mixed from a satchet, thin curry sauce and not chip shop style chips. Kids loved the sausages though!

love to see the really nice boy with the glasses back and working again he makes me laugh so much! there is just 1 little problem, i have seen the small, brown haired woman lady and a cook being very rude and impatient to me over some cod and chips and instead of making the food they were too busy laughing and giggling to each other

Having walked along the seafront seeing various pubs, takeaways we settled for this place. The staff were nice and friendly, service was pretty good and swift.Food itself was good, and at a very fair price. Portion size for dining in wasn't quite what was expected, but to be fair it was just enough.Would certainly use again.

My boyfriend and I visited The Codfather this week after spending the day in Old Hastings. We were after traditional fish and chips and the Codfather did not disappoint. It was delicious with crispy golden batter and very good chips that weren't soggy at all which can be the case with some chippies. I had the scampi which was well cooked and very tasty and my boyfriend had the large cod that was a generous portion and beautifully cooked. Alongside lovely food we had polite, attentive staff serving us and were made to feel very welcome. I certainly would recommend this fish and chip shop to other visitors. Worth the money, 5 stars from us!

Highly recommend, and would definitely go again. I have lived in Hastings for a lot of years and this is the best chippy by a mile. Proper chips and a loverly big bit of fish. Staff were loverly and friendly, and extremely helpful 👍.

Very nice cosy fish and chips shop in the town. Lovely members of staff, very friendly. Cod and chips for dining in cost £7.50 (£9 for a large) decent portion and taste fresh, would recommend it.

Great fish and chip shop. Ordered large portion of cod and chips which was £9 for sitting outside. Extra charge for sitting indoors. I thought was reasonable price considering it’s right on seaside.Food tasted great ! Loved the cod. Was quite oily but had great taste . Was very fresh.Only thing was never had plastic knife and fork to cut the cod. But had the wooden sticks.Friendly staff. Great service ! Would come here again.

This is my favourite fish and chips I think I’ve pretty much ever had.I came here with a friend who lives here. We had this for takeaway. I’ve since been back three times and not only is this fantastic fish and chips, it’s consistently good. The service is always quick and easy. I have had take out and eaten in the restaurant all the other times. I’ve had cod or haddock and chips with curry sauce. The chips are always perfectly hot, soft potato with a slight outer crunch which is excellent. The fish is firm, fresh and the batter crispy and neither too dry or too oily. As a northerner who loves their curry sauce, I’ve never tasted better than this down south. I’ve taken friends here and recommend led to others. It’s the only time I’ve ever finished an entire portion. I can not recommend this place and service too enough.
