The green cafe is one of my all time favourites for a lovely hearty breakfast! Especially if you have a mild hangover. Its also so lovely to have an afternoon cream tea with homemade scones. The staff are so friendly and always welcome you with a smile, no matter how busy it seems. I can't wait to get back there and enjoy the food again!

I regularly stop at The Green Cafe when visiting Hastings. The staff are charming with delightful customer service at the forefront of their business. The owners take the time to speak to every customer and make them feel welcomed with ‘regulars’ visiting for this exact reason. The food is a delight - the milkshake menu is extensive and I don’t know if I’ll ever work my way through them! The scones are freshly baked and simply wonderful. This isn’t a chain or somewhere to go if you want ‘high-street’. The Green Cafe has family at the heart of it and offers a warm and friendly setting with homemade dishes and the most beautiful green tiles. A must visit if you’re in Hastings - see you soon xx

Whenever we come to Hastings, the Green Cafe is always on our itinerary. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the food and drink are amazing. They serve the best coffee I've ever had - I drink it black with no sugar, and it's incredible how much the flavour can vary from place to place. Their well maintained and regularly cleaned Gaggia machine combines well with the expertise of the staff to produce pure black liquid gold (coffee, not oil). The home made scones are to die for - the cheese scone is a meal in itself, and is wonderfully moist, deliciously cheesy and fabulous slathered in butter. The dips selection (pictured) makes a great sharing platter, and is very tasty indeed.Smoothies are packed with fruit and a great option if you want something cold, and there's also a milkshake menu with over 100 flavour choices. One day I want to try the gin milkshake, but my daughter had the brownie milkshake this time, which we all tried and thoroughly enjoyed.Next time you're in Hastings Old Town, make sure you try the Green Cafe, you won't be disappointed. We'll be back again too.

Made us feel super welcome, lovely eccentric place serving good eggs. Never seen a greener cafe. Ever.

Clearly a lot of the negative reviews want to be served by some sort of starbucks robot rather than an actual human being. The staff were friendly and helpful. The older gentleman was lovely to our family, taking time to gently tease our youngest by tapping him on the head as he served others which amused him greatly. The Food took a little while to come, because it was freshly cooked to order. It was worth the wait, the portions where big (especially the salads), burgers where hand made and the chips where definitely NOT McCain's.Highly recommended, great food, great individually. Will come back!

Dined at the Green Cafe today on a fleeting visit to Hastings. The Cafe is warm with a friendly greeting from the proprietor. The Greek Salad that I ordered was tastefully and neatly presented with obvious attention to detail. Above all else it was excellent value for money. Well worth the visit

My husband and I went in here on Sunday for our breakfast. The prices were quite expensive but we thought it would be cooked to a high standard. Unfortunately we never got to find out because after sitting there for about 10 minutes while the owner finished his own breakfast off and nobody even asking us if we wanted a drink was bad enough but when another couple came in that the owner obviously knew from a previous visit he went straight to them and took their order for breakfast and drinks while still ignoring us. We decided to walk out and this point and will not be returning there again!

Food was fantastic. Definitely value for money and all freshly cooked to order. Service was excellent by what we thought was the owner who was an older man. Very accommodating and had a laugh with you when taking your order. Be prepared, it goes by its name, the inside is green colouring. A very pleasant visit.

If you find yourself in Old Town Hastings I would recommend a visit to the Green Café. The Customer Service and Hospitality are exceptional. I’d recommend the freshly homemade scones and the delicious hot chocolate. Back today for a second visit for the Eggs Florentine.

A fantastically fun and cosy atmosphere, I popped in here one cold december afternoon and had a luxurious hot chocolate, presented in a beautiful cup, and a choice of over a hundred flavours of milkshake, he went for the Popcorn choice! Delicious! We will be back!!
