Grear beer, great service. The kind of pub where someone will always talk to you. One of my Hastings favourites.

We were recommended The Stag for Sunday lunch when staying at The Old Rectory nearby. We would thoroughly recommend for the food, the service and the ambience.

This is the best pub I've e been to in a long time! Everything is genuine. Lovely atmosphere, comfy decor inside and in its tiered garden. An interesting menu of freshly cooked 'real' food, tasted delicious cious and most of all the beat service of anywhere I've been.

Wow! What a fabulous lunch! We sat in the Stag Inns lovely sunny and shady garden and had the best lunch. For starters, the burrata and heritage tomato salad was gorgeous and the lamb ribs with riata were covered in delicious herbs and spices, for mains we had home smoked trout with samphire, broad beans and watercress salad with a black olive tapenade cheesy yummyness on the side and the roast quail with peas, courgette fritters all with a delicious creamy sauce. Top notch! Great service and lovely crisp cold wine to wash it all down with. Great coffee too. We'll be back next week!

Love the Stag. We go every time we go to Hastings. The staff are among the most friendly, helpful, professional we've been served by. Every time we've gone there's been musical entertainment that's been amazing. The atmosphere is great as is the decor. Would definitely be here every day if we lived local.

History and service all beautifully bundled in an amazing blend of a pub and restaurant with options for Omnivore to Vegan! How someone was so forward thinking to make a pub feel like a home with entertainment and nostalgia is a sight I am so glad I was introduced to!

Lovely pub with very friendly staff - serving a range of beer including Whitstable Bay larger/stout and a good selection of spirits. We had a couple of starters to share for lunch and they were nice, if a little lacking in spice. The menu has a bit of a Thai theme. The real star here is the garden, up a few steps at the back is a moderate seating area with lots of plants and up another set of stairs is another area with a little orchard beside. Although there are no seaside views you can hear the seagulls and it is a truly relaxing and beautiful space.
