Lovely, super traditional, old English pub. Great food at very reasonable price. Lots of cute spots to sit and enjoy their tasty Sunday roast.

Had a really good night here, lively and friendly as it should be. I came here on a weekend and would deffo go again when in town. The only downside is it attracts a very young crowd but I will say that I observed the bar staff frequently requesting age I.D. So no issues here. Just if you want a quiet Friday night maybe try another bar but if you're looking to start of your party then this is a good place to go!

I had a mid-week lunch here with a friend. We were searching for somewhere that catered for gluten-free and The Olde Pumphouse delivered. A menu with GF options was readily available and I was able to find something to eat. My meal was delicious (the chips were so perfectly cooked it was a shame I couldn't finish them) and my friend's meal (lamb shank) disappeared off her plate quick enough with lots of praise for the tender meat and lush gravy, and the fact that the gravy was served in a proper-sized jug (no asking for more!). The atmosphere was very olde worlde, as you'd expect, with low beams everywhere. The barman was attentive and knowledgeable when I advised him of my dietary requirements. All this, along with very reasonable pricing, means this is a place I'll be coming back to.

I love this pub, it is so quirky and the bar staff are fab and fun.Just what you need on a January afternoon or to be fair any afternoon.Didn't eat, but the food looked good.Drinks, oh my they have it all.Dogs welcome too.Beautiful old pub.

Nice homely pub. Busy on the first floor and quiet on the ground floor, meaning it's good for all types of patron.Reasonable pricing and staff are friendly. Open gas fire makes it well worth a visit on a winter's night

We are visiting Hastings from Greece almost every year, and we always visit this pub. The place is extremely beautiful, the staff is very friendly and kind, and the food is simply amazing. Totally recommended!

Rare and unusual Grade II listed pub with timbers dating back to circa 1600. Plus great staff, good pub food inc decent vegan/veggie options and really good lager (Hürlimann is top notch) 👍🏼
